Earlier this year, actor Dhanush and wife Aishwarya oddly surprised their fans when they announced that they were getting separated after being married for 18 years. The two jointly posted their divorce announcement and accepted that they will continue to be cordial with each other.

The two were one of the most loved superstar couples down South and parents to two kids as well. Recently, Aishwarya got back to direction and her music video was shared by ex-husband Dhanush on his social media feed.

Turns out, the gesture was amicable and in good spirit but he addressed her as a ‘friend’ and that kind of triggered a lot of reactions on the internet. While some fans believed that it was the ideal reaction and there is nothing wrong with it, some were offended by the usage of the word ‘friend’.

Aishwarya graciously thanked him back after retweeting his wish. Some trolls also called him a ‘desi’ Kanye West and looks like while the ex-couple is chill with this break up, their fans are clearly not!
