Bruce Willis Announces Retirement From Acting Due To Brain Condition & It's Heart-Breaking

In shocking news, the legendary action star Bruce Willis has taken retirement from acting after he was diagnosed with a brain condition called aphasia, an impairment that affects the production and comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write.

Sharing a statement about the 67-year-old star’s diagnosis, his ex-wife and actress Demi Moore wrote, “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him. This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that. Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn”.

His wife Emma Heming Willis also shared the same statement.

As soon as the news of Bruce’s sudden retirement broke, a number of Hollywood celebs took to their social media accounts to extend support.

Fellow action star and a long time friend Sylvester Stallone wrote on Instagram while sharing a couple of pictures, “We go back a long way , praying for the best for you and your wonderful family …”

Director M Night Shyamalan who directed Bruce in the cult hit The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Split and Glass wrote, “All my love and respect to my big brother Bruce Willis. I know his wonderful family is surrounding him with support and strength. He will always be that hero on that poster on my wall as kid.”

Filmmaker Kevin Smith who had a troubled relationship with Bruce while filming for 2010 dud Cop Out wrote, “Long before any of the Cop Out stuff, I was a big Bruce Willis fan - so this is really heartbreaking to read. He loved to act and sing and the loss of that has to be devastating for him. I feel like an asshole for my petty complaints from 2010. So sorry to BW and his family.”

Seth Green tweeted, “I have so much love for Bruce Willis, and am grateful for every character he’s given us. Hugs and love for the whole family- thank you for sharing him with us all”.

Sarah Paulson who recently worked with Bruce in Glass wrote, “He was such an incredible acting partner to me, and is the loveliest, most gentle and hilarious man. he reigns supreme in my book”.
