Elon Musk Gives Us A Look At The 'World's Most Powerful Rocket' That Will Take Humans To Mars

Everyone is eagerly awaiting the launch of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy, its most powerful rocket yet, this November, and Elon Musk's most recent post on Instagram is just increasing the excitement. This proposed rocket will take humanity to a galaxy far, far away. Well, actually not that far, just to Mars, but still it's pretty damn cool.

The SpaceX founder and CEO unveiled an animated video of the Falcon Heavy launch, showing what the rocket will look like ahead of a test flight in November.

First draft animation of the Falcon Heavy three core launch. FH is twice the thrust of the next largest rocket currently flying and ~2/3 thrust of the Saturn V moon rocket. Lot that can go wrong in the November launch ...

The rocket's main mission is to basically lift large amounts of cargo into space at a comparatively low cost, with the company also stating that one day it will take astronauts to the Moon and Mars.

Even Elon Musk was boasting a little bit in the caption of the video by saying that the Falcon Heavy has “twice the thrust of the next largest rocket currently flying”. But also added that “Lot that can go wrong in the November launch…”

The animated video actually looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but the best part is this is going to be real in a few months.

In the video, the rocket is seen to be blasting off like we see in movies, and as it ascends, the boosters detach from the rocket and fall back on land.

But, the best part about all of Musk's efforts with his SpaceX ships is that he is trying to make each and every individual part of the ship reusable. This would significantly bring down the cost as it's cheaper to reuse the same parts than making new ones every time. This would make it much more affordable for everyone, which is the main goal of Falcon Heavy.

SpaceX's initial plans are to fly two tourists around the moon, which could take place soon, even next year.

Musk said last year, “With Dragon launched on a Falcon Heavy, it can go pretty much anywhere in the solar system, because that's a heck of a big rocket.”

This sounds incredible and terrifying at the same time. Would you like to be a part of SpaceX's exciting endeavours?
