South stars Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu have been making headlines for one or another reason ever since they got separated in October last year. The ex-couple exchanged wedding vows in 2012 and ended their relationship after four years of togetherness. 

While the estranged couple has moved on in their lives, the latest buzz suggests that both of them are not interested in working together and director Nandini Reddy is having a tough time due to their divorce.

According to reports, Samantha has worked with Nandini in Jabardasth (2013) and Oh! Baby (2019) and they were slated to team up for another project. Interestingly, Chay was in talks to play the lead role opposite Sam in it. However, their separation has now changed the director's initial plans. 

As per a report by Tollywood.net, Naga Chaitanya is still a part of Nandini's upcoming directorial venture while she is hunting for Samantha’s replacement. Yes, you read that right! 

Reportedly, the filmmaker had narrated the script to Naga and Samantha when they were together, however, ever since their separation, they 'are not ready to act together in a movie'.

Talking about the same, sources informed the portal, "Nandini Reddy has decided to stick with Naga Chaitanya and she is now in search of an actress who can replace Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the film".

However, the trio is yet to react to the ongoing speculations and an official announcement is still awaited. 

Interestingly, amidst the rumours of reconciliation, The Family Man 2 actress recently unfollowed her ex-husband on social media and made it clear that they aren't coming back together. 

Last year, post their separation announcement, Samantha was trolled badly by her fans who were disappointed with her decision. Later, in an interview, she slammed the trolls and talked about the tough phase after parting ways with Chay. The actress stated that back then, she thought she was weaker and would "crumble and die". 

Later, Chaitanya also talked about ending relationship with the Oo Antava star and stated that divorce was the best decision as both of them are happy now.
