Continuing his fine run, Shikhar Dhawan notched up his sixth hundred during the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Pallekele International Cricket stadium. The Delhi southpaw slammed a 123-ball 119 including 17 boundaries in India's first innings.

Starting his innings briskly, Dhawan batted with intent as he thrashed the Sri Lankan bowlers all around the park. Thanks to his blazing knock, India romped to a mammoth total of 487 runs in the first innings. His 119 also made Dhawan the leading run-scorer in the series with 358 runs to his name.

With the social media buzzing, Dhawan's knock garnered plaudtis from all corners of the country. His teammate, too, took to Twitter and sent out a congratulatory message to the 31-year-old. Usually known as 'Gabbar' and 'Jatt Ji', Dhawan also got a new nickname from Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.

Hardik shared a boomerang video on the micro-blogging website and captioned it: "Big daddy D got it right".

Apart from Hardik, Dhawan's opening partner Rahul also congratulated the marauding batsman for his latest feat. "Big up yourself Daddy D enjoyed watching you smash it like that from the other end. To many more big partnerships," Rahul tweeted.

Along with Dhawan, Rahul also played a tidy knock 85 runs including eight fours. Dominating the opposition bowlers, the two batsmen gave India a flying start of 188 runs.

With a late onslaught from Hardik, India managed to post a healthy total against the hosts who were eventually bowled out for 135 in the first innings.
