Sitting in office stressing over what to eat is a real deal, and probably harder a task to accomplish than managing clients. And whether you agree with us or not, the first option that comes to our mind by default is McDonald's. Deciding between that extra large box of fries with chicken nuggets and the Filet-O-Fish is possibly the hardest decision ever. Life without McDonald's is kind of hard to believe these days, yet we managed to survive the blow of 43 out of 55 McDonald's outlets shutting down in Delhi. Well, muster up some courage folks, because another curveball has been thrown right at us as McDonald's is shutting down all their outlets (nearly 169) in North and East India.

Let's take a minute to calm ourselves down, but we can't help but think that Delhi will have to finally bid adieu to the remaining McDonald's outlets as well. Earlier, we were massaging our hearts with a hope that there are still some outlets open where we can go and hog to our hearts content without creating a hole in our pockets, but we guess now we will have to settle for other fast food joints. That we won't be confused between McAloo Tikki and McChicken anymore is the only silver lining, we guess.  This decision of shutting down all the outlets comes after fallout over an alleged breach of franchise agreements between McDonald's and Connaught Plaza Restaurants Private Limited (CPRL). CPRL manages McDonald's operations in North and East India and reportedly is a 23-year-old, 50:50 joint venture between Vikram Bakshi and McDonald's India.

In fact, CPRL won't be able to use the McDonald's logo, branding, trademarks and recipes within 15 days of receiving the termination notice. McDonald's reportedly operates 430 outlets in India through CRPL (North and East) and Hardcastle Restaurants (South and West) are currently looking for replacement for CPRL. “We understand that this action brings uncertainty for many. It will take time to bring the current situation to a final resolution,” McDonald's India wrote, according to a report in The Times Of India. Reportedly, since 2013, McDonald's has been in a legal battle with Bakshi. McDonald's is a leading burger chain of US that is present in nearly 119 countries. It seems this was probably the final nail in the coffin and we can only shed tears of anger over this loss.
