After Twitter Backlash, Danielle Wyatt Speaks Out On The 'Virat Kohli Spelling' Blunder

English female cricketer, Danielle Wyatt recently became the butt of jokes on social media when she misspelled Virat Kohli's last name while thanking him for his gift - a cricket bat.

Here's @Danni_Wyatt with @imVkohli ðâ¤ï¸ððð pic.twitter.com/Hy8a4YYtA4

— MAX (@max_wyatt) July 2, 2014

The Indian captain had met the England all-rounder and gifted her one of his cricket bats during India's tour match against Derbyshire back in 2014. The two had also clicked a photo together which was later shared by Danielle's brother Max Wyatt on Twitter.

Back training this week. Can't wait to use this beast ðð½ðªð½ð¥ Thanks @imVkohli #ping #middlesbiggerthanme ð pic.twitter.com/BknGjYx2Yj

Recently, Danielle had decided to use the same bat in one of her practice sessions. Taking to Twitter, the 26-year-old shared a picture of Kohli's bat and tweeted: "Back training this week. Can't wait to use this beast. Thanks @imVkohli #ping #middlesbiggerthanme".

While Danielle was probably looking to thank the Indian batting sensation for his gift, the wrong spelling of Kohli's last name made her a victim of Twitter trolls.

Kholi again ð!! Kholi means room & Virat means big/huge !! It means there's "big/huge room" for improvement ððð
Best wishes ðð

— AB de Villiers (@CricNik4u) September 11, 2017

The Indian cricket fans showed no mercy to the England cricketer before trolling her mercilessly on Twitter. But, after all the trolling she faced, Danielle finally came forward and cleared the air.

Gets me trolled? ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£His bat maker wrote it not me durrrrrrr ð #wakeywakey

— Danielle Wyatt (@Danni_Wyatt) September 11, 2017

Responding to the trolls, Danielle tweeted: "Gets me trolled? His bat maker wrote it not me durrrrrrr". To the sheer embarassment of trolls, England star didn't misspell Kohli's last name, rather it was the batmaker who got it all wrong.

While Danielle was clearly not at fault here, she had committed a similar mistake back in 2014 when she had jokingly proposed the Indian skipper for marriage.

Kholi marry me!!!

— Danielle Wyatt (@Danni_Wyatt) April 4, 2014

The right-hander got the social media buzzing after she tweeted: "Kholi marry me!!!". Her tweet went viral on the social media with the Indian cricket fans left wondering whether to inform her about Anushka Sharma or educate her about the correct spelling of Kohli.

@bhaviknz: @Danni_Wyatt he is booked to bollywood actress @AnushkaSharma” nah he ain't

— Danielle Wyatt (@Danni_Wyatt) April 4, 2014

While many laughed at her mistake, some also joked that Virat was booked for Anushka. And, the England all-rounder sportingly replied: "nah, he ain't".

Clearly, Danielle is one of the billion fans Kohli boasts of, but let's hope that the English cricketer will be more cautious next time she decides to write his name on social media.
