Rohan Gavaskar Calls Himself 'India's Greatest Opener' Before Cracking The Funniest Joke Ever

Rohan Gavaskar may forever have to bear the mark of being the not-so-famous son of a famous father. Sunil Gavaskar's near-impeccable technique and rock-steady temperament have clearly not echoed in Rohan perhaps as much as he or his father would have liked.

His left-handed batting was attacking but more vulnerable than you'd expect from the son of India's legendary batsman. He also bowled a slow, gentle left-arm spin that rarely troubled batsmen. That's exactly why his international career didn't last more than nine months.

And, none could have summed up his cricket career better than Rohan himself. The 41-year-old shared a photograph of himself with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar on Twitter with a caption that seems to have won over Indian cricket fans.

Taking to Twitter, Rohan wrote: "India's greatest openers. Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Sehwag. Two at cricket. One at bottles".

Before hanging up his boots, Rohan made 11 appearances in Indian colours which came under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly in two ODI series in Australia and Netherlands. His lone international fifty came against Zimbabwe in Adelaide in 2004.

But, after failing to enthral fans with his cricketing abilities, it's great to see Rohan making an impact with his sense of humour.

Self deprecation works beautifully for you! One of the funniest things I have heard from anyone for quite some time!
