Multani is one of the many offshoots of the Punjabi language with its origins in Multan, Punjab. After independence, as a mass migration of people from various parts of Pakistan and India took place, various ethnic groups of Punjab and neighboring Pakistani states intermingled and that is where the north Indian diversity, in terms of culture and people, originated from.
