In an ideal world, one-night stands should be fun. It should be just like a Covergirl commerical—easy, breezy and beautiful. Because you want ***. She (or he) wants ***. And multiple sessions, adventurous positions, and a few surprises later, you're both happy and content.

But instead of actually enjoying this not-so-frequent fantasy, you’re over-thinking the situation, trying to make it work, make it perfect. However, in reality, there’s no such thing as a perfect one-night stand. There’s the unavoidable awkwardness that turns into immediate guilt. Because sleeping with a stranger isn’t as easy as it sounds. You’re uncomfortable and have feelings that always seem to get in the way, for obvious reasons.

The key to a seamless ONS is the presence of mind, a little preparation (always) and a go-with-the-flow attitude. Because a one-night stand is supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be a little rough around the edges—if you know what we mean.

In order to further explore this (tricky-ass) subject—we spoke to 13 adventurous Indian men (and some lovely ladies), on how they prep for a one-night stand…

4. “Sometimes I make sure I don’t shave/trim my pubes because I love the sensation of her hands running through them. Pro-tip: Don’t look too prepared, as if you were expecting it. Trust me, women love surprises!” - Sid, 25

5. “If it’s a really short notice—I make sure to wash with something fruity. A fruity smell is familiar to women, they aren’t taken aback and feel ‘Oh, look at this, smells so familiar, how harmless. And then, gobble!’” - Rahul, 28

7. “I’ve never hooked up completely unexpectedly. So, when I feel like maybe there’s a chance of me getting laid, I always make sure to shave down-under and clean thoroughly. Trust me, that’s the only thing that matters in a one-night stand!” Anita, 26
