Tata Motors announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft recently where the two companies will be working hand in hand and develop advanced connected automobiles and digital ecosystems which will make it easier for drivers to stay connected on the go. Powered by Cortana, the AI framework will enable drivers to control basic car features remotely and multi-task while driving without ever having touch a phone or any device for that matter.

Tata Motors will be the first Indian car manufacturer which will utilise Microsoft’s connected vehicle technologies and bring together advanced machine learning, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities. This ecosystem will be powered by Microsoft’s Azure cloud while bringing together the digital and the physical worlds. This in turn can be used to create a smarter and safer driving experience for a vehicle owner.

As of now, there is no word when this feature and the connected car will hit the road, however, it seems like it will be available in cars in the not too distant future.
