A Software Engineer Was Detained At The JFK Airport andamp Was Given A Test To Prove His Skills

People being detained at airports are part of normal routine, especially in a country like America that did not even spare SRK. So, it's not a big deal, right? What goes down when you are stopped? They probably frisk you to search for drugs or arms, check your luggage and question you, except this one time. A Nigerian software engineer had an obnoxious experience at the JFK airport when he was asked to prove his engineering skills by taking a test.

I was just asked to balance a Binary Search Tree by JFK's airport immigration. Welcome to America.

28 year old Celestine Omin works with a tech start up, was detained at JFK airport where he was grilled to prove his tech knowledge. The weird part is, he was then told that his answers for the binary test were all wrong.

@ssharwood I was too tired to even think of a BST solution. I have e been travelling for 23hrs. But I was also asked about 10 CS questions.

He was eventually allowed to enter America when the authorities checked with his company and got the details.

Well, that is one extremely annoying and weird experience. It is also pretty sad that people have to go through such scrutiny for nothing.
