Facebook's New Policies Will Allow You To Have More Control On Your Personal Data

Facebook is facing a lot of heat right now and the #deletefacebook movement is growing and obviously, there is the loss of asset value and money involved as well. As they say, tough times call for tougher measures, and it seems like Zuckerberg and his team are finally pulling up their socks. In a new development, Facebook has announced new security measures to protect user data.

Facebook's New Security Policies Will Give You More Control© Facebook

“Last week showed how much more work we need to do to enforce our policies and help people understand how Facebook works and the choices they have over their data,” Vice President and chief privacy officer, Erin Egan was quoted as saying. In another statement, the deputy general counsel, Ashlie Beringer, said: “We've heard loud and clear that privacy settings and other important tools are too hard to find and that we must do more to keep people informed.”

These are the 3 major changes in the pipeline, that allow users to be safeguarded:

1. Redesigning of the entire settings menu- The setting menu on mobile devices will undergo a major redesign. The new layout will have all setting options in one location, perfectly streamlined. Easier for the layman user as well to understand.

2. More control on your data- Controlling your data will be in your hands and you will be able to manage the information that will be seen in ads as well.

3. Downloading Facebook data- To initiate additional transparency, users will be able to download the data that is available in their name on Facebook. The 'access your information' will allow you to control all your posts and information about you.

Facebook is very well aware that it is under the radar right now and there is no escaping the wrath this time. Let's hope these measures help Facebook in retaining the brand value that it is losing right now.
