The India- Pakistan partition has been a backdrop of numerous books, movies and documentaries and the issue is so deeply embedded in the hearts and the minds of people on both sides of the borders, that every take on it is personal and unique. Vidya Balan’s next movie, ‘Begum Jaan’, also has the same theme in the background but the fight for independence of the human spirit is what it talks about.

She is shown as a ‘Kotha’ owner in the movie and the stellar star cast includes an unrecognisable Chunky Pandey, the powerhouse Naseeruddin Shah and even Gauahar Khan.

The movie focuses on the struggles of *** workers during the time of India-Pakistan divide and the dialogues in the trailer are already exemplary.  The movie is set to release on 14th April.
