The 'Vaisakhi' celebrations around the world recently concluded and calling it a colourful affair would be an understatement. Every year, the 'Sikh Parade' is carried out in many parts of the world and is a grand affair, particularly in New York City and Toronto.

This afternoon I marched in the #Khalsa Day parade with Toronto's Sikh community to honour the birth of Khalsa. Sikh Canadians have made a huge impact on our province and their values of equality, justice & freedom make it a better place. pic.twitter.com/43t4huuZuB

The parade honours the birth of 'Khalsa' and is not just limited to the participation of Sikhs.

The Sikh community in Toronto even raised money for the Toronto attack victims.

Beautiful day at the #Vaisakhi #KhalsaDay parade with #TeamTrudeau. Sikhs stand united with Torontonians and all Canadians. All donations made from today's highly attended parade will go to the victims of the #TorontoAttack and #Humboldt. #TorontoStong #HumboldtStrong pic.twitter.com/xKjSoioOT9

I am honoured to have taken part of the Khalsa Day Parade celebrating the birth of the Khalsa Panth. The contributions of Canadian Sikhs demonstrate the rich diversity of our Province. #KhalsaDay2018 pic.twitter.com/tqpQmU1cE5

' Langar' was also served and everyone participated in 'sewa'.

Really enjoyed marching in the #Sikh Day Parade today alongside NYPD Sikh police officers and NJ Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal. Thank you to the Richmond Hill Sikh Cultural Society for hosting and NYPD Commissioner James P. O'Neill for joining us! pic.twitter.com/1r554C3ZYm
