Sony Will Highlight 4 Of The Biggest Games At E3 This Year, Including 'The Last Of Us 2'

Sony has announced their plans for E3 next month and we are in store for four action-packed games that we've all been excited for. Shawn Layden, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios, said: “PlayStation's Worldwide Studios will focus on four major upcoming titles: Death Stranding from Kojima Productions, Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II and Spider-Man from Marvel.”

Now that we know Sony's going to show off the Last Of Us 2, we will probably see some form of gameplay for the game. Not much is known about the upcoming game; however, we will not see a release date for the game in 2018. Ever since the first trailer was released, fans have been wondering where Joel is and how Ellie has progressed as a character.

Apart from the four first party titles, Layden said that the showcase will also feature third-party publishers and indie developers. There's a high chance we may see Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Sony stage as they are expected to follow through some kind of marketing partnership.

What we won't see is any new hardware being unveiled as there were rumours of a PlayStation 5 being announced sometime this E3. However, from a recent blogcast on Playstation's official website, Sony will instead be focusing on games at this year's event. We will have to wait a bit longer to hear about Sony's plans for PlayStation 5 or a new PlayStation VR headset.

Sony's E3 2018 showcase is scheduled for Monday, June 12, at 6:30 a.m. Indian time. You'll be able to watch the press conference live via Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and on the PlayStation website.
