His recent victory for Argentina in the ongoing FIFA World Cup made the internet roar for him with love, but it is what happened off the field that is winning hearts right now. 

A while ago, a journalist had gifted a 'good luck' red ribbon to Messi before his match with Nigeria. The reporter explained that it was actually a gift from his mother, who apparently loved Messi more than her own son, and wanted Messi to wear it during the World Cup.

Recently, after the match, the reporter happened to interview Messi again. During the interaction, he casually asked if Messi remembered the ribbon he had given him. To his and everybody's utter surprise, Messi just pulled down his sock to reveal that he was indeed wearing it!
