    When Bollywood biggies gather to discuss a few important things, it's hard to imagine the knowledge that's being exchanged. They're probably talking about their next big release, an upcoming airport outfit or well — women. Because that's what men usually do.

    But if Bollywood's men's footwear trends are any indication, Balenciaga's Triple S sneakers are probably a part of the discussion too. From Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Johar to even Bad Boy Shah (AKA Badshah), these ugly, clunky shoes now a part of famous Indian wardrobes and are spotted on quite a few occasions. 

    But what are these kicks, what the hell do they look like and what makes them so dope; here's everything you need to know:

    1. Triple S — a unisex range of ugly, dad-like sneakers — was launched at Balenciaga's F/W'17 runway by Demna Gvasalia, originally the designer of 'Vetements' and alternatively, now the brand-new Creative Director of Balenciaga. This was Gvasalia's first step towards bringing a fresh perspective towards the brand's sneaker catalog, which he describes as 'heavy-duty, high fashion-spec footwear'. 

    2. The first edition of the Triple S range kicks was launched in 2016, with a retail price of $795 (approx. Rs. 54,692). Over time, as the demand for the pair increased, the price of it on StockX.com drastically increased; reaching about $1,200 at times (approx. Rs. 82,566).

    3. Each Triple S pair features a triple-stacked sole that's almost two inches tall, suede/leather/mesh trims, a variety of colourways and falls right under the trend of 'Dadcore'. Basically representing, that the most ordinary, big (AKA ugly) kicks our dads have sworn by for decades, are now officially cool (with a big style upgrade, of course). 

    4. The tongue of the Triple S kicks is our favourite aspect. Besides boasting of the Triple S logo, it also features the shoe sizing as well as a unique bar code (a one-of-a-kind detail for luxury sneakers). The laces are hiking shoes-inspired, the upper is straight off a running shoe,

    5. While the first few Triple S' had blaring Balenciaga branding on the trims, over time, it has been replaced by just a very small tag, making way for a lot more details on the pair and brand-new colour ways. Says a lot about the brand's way forward with the Triple S range!

    6. While most Triple S kicks feature 2-3 tones/shades/colours (all in a shoe), they also come in the form of a 50/50 colourway (that will be launched soon). For example, one half of the shoe would be black, grey, cream and yellow in colour and the other half would completely contrasting (a blue, red and green).

    7. The soles used to create a Triple S pair, are a mix of the moulds of Balenciaga's running, basketball and track shoes and in general, are padded very heavily. Giving birth to the big, over-sized nature of the sneakers. 

    8. According to reports, thanks to the advent of the Triple S, Balenciaga is now the fastest growing luxury brand with this product catalog, even surpassing the biggest giants like Gucci in 2018.
