Harley Davidson Plans To Launch Its First Electric Motorcycle In 2019 & We Couldn't Be More Excited

The first time we ever heard about a Harley Davidson electric motorcycle was way back in 2014 and since then it has been anticipated to debut soon. The project was dubbed as 'Project LiveWire' and has since got some design changes and will be one of the very few electric bikes to launch next year.

The news comes from Harley-Davidson's future strategy to inspire the next generation of bikers. "The LiveWire will be the first bike that will have a no-clutch 'twist and go' system which has been designed to establish the company as the leader in the electrification of the sport," wrote the company in a press release. Of course, the images released by Harley Davidson is only a prototype and is not for sale yet.

Since it is a prototype, it may undergo a few changes and have different features on the final outcome. The company is also working on two other electric bike models — one resembles a dirt-bike while the other looks more like a city commuter version. Both electric versions of the bike are expected to launch sometime in 2022.

The company will continue to work on traditional non-electric bikes and the company plans to launch its first adventure touring model called the “the Pan America 1250” in 2020. The company will also be looking to launch a 975cc StreetFighter model for 2020. It seems like Harley Davidson has been busy with updating its current lineup as a "stripped down” styled motorcycle is also expected to launch by 2021 that will have 1250cc of power.
