Nawazuddin Siddiqui Reveals His True Religion In This Powerful Message He Posted On Twitter

Nawazuddin siddiqui is an actor with a conscience. The man has wowed us with his powerful performances time and again. This time he has come out and made a hard-hitting statement about religion and identity. At a time when communal tensions are threatening to tear apart the social fabric, there is an urgent need to remind people that at the end of the day, we are all the same.

In a short film titled ‘Sixteen Point Six Six’, Nawazuddin conveys his message through placards. The actor says he got a DNA test done on himself and found out that:

He is 16.66% Hindu

We live in a world of fragile egos today and almost everything offends us. There is aggression and intolerance in the air. While a Muslim is murdered in Dadri over a suspicion over something in his fridge, a filmmaker (Sanjay Leela Bhansali) finds his set vandalized because someone somewhere has taken offence at his version of history.

Nawazuddin’s video comes at a time when the film industry is facing much censoring and backlash, and it’s very difficult for artists to come out and speak their heart out. It is not our religion that makes us, it’s what we do.
