Akshay Kumar has always been famous for doing his own stunts. He’s real life macho and above all, a good human being. He has always spoken about the welfare of the stunts men in the industry and was even trying to push an initiative for their welfare.

However, being a man of his words, Akshay has a concrete plan in action. For the first time, Bollywood will now have an insurance scheme for all stunts men and women. The plan has been initiated by Akshay and Dr. Ramakanta Panda and under the current plan, it will cover around 380 stunts men and women.

Ejaz Gulab, the general secretary of Movie Stunt Artist Association, is in awe of Khiladi Kumar. He explained how these stunt artists have been trying to initiate a scheme of this kind but no producer has ever supported them. “They didn’t agree to provide insurance to us. It was very demoralising, but we don’t know what magic wand Akshay ji has used. We can’t thank him enough, as it has come as great news for us.” The scheme will have a cover of Rs. 6 lakh for every stunt artist in over 4000 hospitals and a sum of Rs 10 lakh will be given to the family, in case of a death.
