Usually, when there are manufacturing defects in products, their value decreases - or at least so we thought. But things in fashion work differently, as we have always maintained. 

The biggest proof of this is a pair of Nike sneakers, that costs a whopping $146,000, which when translated to INR, is more than a crore. Take a look at the pair.

This pair of 'Reverse Shattered Backboard' Air Jordan from Nike costs a bomb because of a manufacturing defect, which is the presence of a reverse swoosh. Usually, the signature swoosh in the Nike branding is always upright, but in this case, it is upside down. A lucky mistake?

Andrea Canziani, a sneaker enthusiast, ordered this pair online, and when the shoes arrived, he discovered that one had the swoosh in reverse. The pair, a US size 7, meant hitting the jackpot for him. 

Usually, a factory flaw translates to lowering down of the product's price, because of obvious reasons. But in this case, it transformed this pair into a collectable, thereby rendering it expensive beyond sale logic. 

Earlier this year too, a similar incident had happened, where a pair of Nike Air Jordan 'Gold Toe' arrived with a similar flaw. That particular pair sold for a rumoured $96,000 (around INR 69 lakhs).
