YouTuber and Viner, Ashish needs no introduction. It was a short video by David Lopez that changed the life of this engineering graduate. He initially started out as a motivational speaker of sorts, but it was his comic vines that earned him crazy popularity.

With close to 8 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, his videos are hilarious with a lot of cuss words that make up his earnest expressions on the camera. He hails Akshay Kumar as his role model and is said to have started his YouTube channel as a means to accomplish his desire to act.

Youngsters across the country love his work, and his online presence keeps on growing bigger and bigger.

2. Srishti Dixit

It was probably her take on the iconic character of Poo from K3G, played by Kareena Kapoor, that changed the Kanpur girl's life forever. In the video shared by BuzzFeed India, not only do we come across Srishti's acting skills, but also come to love her comic timing. And just like that, Srishti became internet's new celeb overnight.

Her wit, brutal honesty and authenticity make her a relatable personality that her audience can instantly connect to. What's more, she has gone on to appear on various shows and shared the stage with prominent personalities like Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor.

More recently, she also graced the pages of Verve magazine with Cyrus Broacha, his dog and her cat Patches.

3. Amit Bhadana

With over 11 million subscribers, Bhadana is one of India's most popular YouTubers, perhaps second to only Bhuvan Bam. The 24-year-old Gurjar boy from Delhi is popular for his honest and uber hilarious takes on relationships and intricacies of people's personality.

With a bachelor's degree in Law, Amit had a hard time convincing his parents that YouTube is what he wanted to do full time. What's more, his parents were clueless about his endeavours when he started out. In an interview with HT, he said that it was his online popularity that finally gave him away.

An absolute hit with young Indians, people cannot seem to get enough of his funny bones.

4. Tushar Lall

The mastermind behind one of the greatest musical revolutions to have gripped India in recent years, Lall is the man behind 'The Indian Jam Project'. The idea was to bring Indian classical musicians onto one platform and recreate popular movie and TV scores.

A Music Production student from Dubspot, New York, Lall always wanted to bring together Indian classical music into the contemporary music scene. When BuzzFeed and MTV Indies picked up his first raw take on the musical fusion with 'Game of Thrones' opening theme song cover, he became an internet sensation overnight.

The Indian Jam Project's work has caught the attention of prominent personalities such as Emmy award-winning composer Michael Price, actor and novelist Mark Gatiss, and Hollywood film score composer Clint Mansell, among others. Some of his covers of cult scores, such as the theme music of 'Harry Potter' and 'Star Wars' have gotten them a lot of eyeballs (and ears).

5. Kenneth 'Kenny' Sebastian

One of India's most beloved comic stars, Kenny's USP lies in his ability to satirise the trivialities of the Indian middle class, thrive on the idiosyncrasies of the underdog and bring out the relatable side of the most mundane aspects of human existence.

His rendezvous with stand-up comedy happened by chance. It was during his days in college that he decided to participate in a stand-up competition being held by IIT-Mumbai during its Mood Indigo Festival. Guess what? Not only did he win the competition and the cash money, but also got his first break to perform at the prestigious 'The Comedy Store'.

With close to 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a huge fan following outside of the virtual space. He's a super talented musician besides being a filmmaker and stand-up comedian. The guy holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and is a trained painter too. How talented!

Inspiring people, aren't they?

Emraan Hashmi
