After His Cancer Treatment In London, Irrfan Khan Is Set To Return To India Post Diwali

Hailed as Bollywood's most prolific underdog-turned-mega-star, critically acclaimed actor Irrfan Khan is reportedly all set to return to the country post his cancer treatment in London.

Last seen in the movie 'Karwaan' which released in August, Irrfan had given a miss to the movie's promotion, since he had to move to London for his treatment.

Earlier this year in March, Irrfan had announced that he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour. Soon after, he left for London to undergo treatment for his condition.

However, reports have been circulating that the actor will be returning home post-Diwali after his treatment. It is also being suggested that Irrfan might start shooting for 'Hindi Medium 2' post his return, later this year.

HT has quoted Irrfan's spokesperson as saying, “The story floating about Irrfan starting Hindi Medium 2 shoot in December are all based on speculations. However, there is a possibility of him returning to India after Diwali”.

The update comes as a happy news for his fans and well-wishers who had been waiting to hear about the status of his recovery since the last statement, which had come out in August.

Earlier in August Irrfan had said, “I've seen life from a completely different angle. You sit down and you see the other side and that's fascinating. I'm engaged on a journey”, after receiving four rounds of chemotherapy as part of his treatment.

The diagnosis had forced Irrfan to back out from making an appearance in the Amazon series 'Gormint'. However, with this latest update, we can now look forward to watching him set the screen on fire once again.
