Recently, I asked my cousin about some of the prominent personalities who’ve been ruling the internet for some time now. I was expecting him to name people like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, or even Bill Gates, but was stunned when he said “Hey, Gormint Aunty has been slaying everyone.” That’s when I realized that Julius Caesar’s “Et Tu Brute” or Modi’s “Acche Din, Mitron” is nothing in front of “Yeh Bik Gai Hai Gormint”. This elderly woman from Pakistan is, hands down, one of the most popular figures on the Internet right now, for a topic that possibly the world is secretly fuming about. I think, after Taher Shah, Gormint Aunty made us feel jealous of Pakistan, as both are legendary personalities.

But, Gormint Aunty’s popularity doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, since the famous singer Sia has now joined hands with her. Well, not really! It’s actually her song, ‘Cheap Thrills’ that has now been turned into a mash-up of “Yeh bik gai hai gormint.”  Trust us, of all the covers, this is the one you should definitely keep in your favourites list and listen to in office on full volume.
