If there is one English Premier League side that has underachieved in Europe, it has to be Arsenal. The North London club claims 'London Is Red' but has so far, failed to make the same statement in Europe.
Currently competing in UEFA's second-tier competition- Europa League, Arsenal had a fairly easy group stage run, winning five and drawing one out of their six matches.
The Gunners were confident of their chances for qualification in Round-Of-16 when they were drawn against the Belarusian side, BATE Borisov. But last night turned out to be a different story, as BATE beat Arsenal 1-0 after Stanislaw Drahun scored with a header right at the stroke of halftime.
Though Arsenal came close to scoring on various occasions, they failed to make their chances pay.
This shocking defeat came against a team that hasn't even kicked a ball since December 6. All this and Alexander Lacazette's red card in the closing stages of the game sent Arsenal fans into a frenzy, leading to some hilarious Twitter reactions
