'Thunberging' Is The Newest Dating Trend & It's Definitely For Environmentally Concerned Daters
Finally, we have a dating trend amidst us that's in no way infuriating or negative to begin with. It is in fact quite educational and matches a great empathy based wavelength between two people! What am I talking about which seems so profound for the daters out there? Well, the newest dating trend is called 'Thunberging' and it's one of the healthiest trends two people who're on a date or dating would've experienced.

Research-wise, on OKCupid, the dating website says that as well as seeing a 240% increase in mentions of climate change and other environmental terms on dating profiles in the last two years, in 2019 there was a whopping 800% increase in mentions of Greta Thunberg specifically.
Figures from the dating site survey also reveals that 51% of respondents in 2019 ranked climate change as the most important issue to them, up from 34% of respondents in 2009 and 2014.
So with climate change becoming a hot topic of discussion everywhere since its something we need to actively partake in, in order to save our planet, it's apparently also a great way to get dates. It's simple really, you feel compassionate towards something and you find someone who feels the same way. Of course you're bound to hit it off, but the only difference is, you both know climate change is real and it will end the world eventually , one day.
âWith climate change becoming a major talking point globally, we're finding more and more people's passion for the planet is becoming a steamy subject,â a spokesperson for OkCupid says.
