Diljit Dosanjh’s less than silent support for the ongoing farmers’ protest at the Delhi-Haryana border has been making headlines for a number of reasons. Diljit’s presence at the protest site only added fuel to the fire, surrounding the agitation.

However, today, Diljit seems to have found himself at the epicenter of the latest buzz on the protest after he shared yet another statement following the criticism the protest received after pizzas were distributed amongst demonstrators there last week.

Taking to his Twitter account, Diljit tweeted a picture which clearly underlines his thoughts on the matter. Here's what he had to say, "Farmers consuming poison was never a concern but farmers eating pizza is news."

For the uninitiated, the latest round of criticism for the protests comes after it was reported that hundreds of pizzas were rolled out for protesters at the Singhu border. Following the negativity the incident garnered, one of the organisers of the feast told PTI, "The farmers who gave the dough for pizzas can also afford to have one themselves.”

That’s not all, recently when pictures of elderly farmers getting foot massages and youngsters gymming at the protest site went viral, many people claimed that the agitation had lost its aim and essence. The recent pizza feast seems to have only added to the fire.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor too has shown his support towards the pizza party and shared his thoughts on the matter by calling out news headlines thus, ““First Biryani, Now Pizza: Farmers Having 'Lavish’ Meals”: these “Outraged Netizens” ought to realize that everything in (&on) a pizza came from a farmer in the first place!”

People are pretty even this time on the matter.

Bills were actually for that concern only paaji, not letting any farmer commit suicide. Now u tell, will taking back bills stop farmer's suicide? If reforms are not needed & old system is best then why suicide rate of farmers is all time high? Or tell what reforms can be done?

Nor any protests, agitation when farmer suicides have been rising and stil happening. Hundreds of farmers committing suicide daily. That means existing model has a flaw. pic.twitter.com/ltl3qJCJNQ

Chaman Chappu
No one is concerned about farmers eating PIzza
But the protest is all about Landlords who are eating Pizza, doing foot massage, gyming
Farmers are still working in fields and serving the country
Farmer protest Hijacked by Landlords, Woke Farmers and wannabe Celebs

So apply ur mind once and analyze why farmer commits suicide ? Ur ignorance in supporting middlemen and rich politicians and misleading farmers is going to cause more such suicides in future..who will take the blame for this ? Reforms r necessary , realize it before it’s too late
