Heres Everything You Need To Know About The Blast At Ariana Grandes Concert In Manchester

People gathered at the Manchester Arena in the UK to have some fun and enjoy the music at American singer Ariana Grande’s concert, but hardly did they know that their dream of watching her live at the concert will soon turn into their biggest nightmare, after an explosion in the arena last night. This upsetting and shocking incident has already taken nearly 22 lives and left over 50 injured. Reportedly, the attacker was a lone suicide bomber who died on the spot after blowing up the device he was carrying.

The world is still trying to come to terms with the news and the grief-stricken families are running around hysterically in search of their loved ones. Mostly young people (children) were a part of this crowd and our hearts reach out to all those innocent people who lost their lives. According to one of the witnesses, she felt a “huge blast” near the arena while she was leaving the stadium, which was followed by screams and panicked people who started running around to escape the venue. Grande is reportedly safe, however she too is shattered and heartbroken after this incident and took to Twitter to mourn the loss and share her thoughts.

broken.
from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don't have words.

This incident apparently happened as the concert was coming to an end and people were about to leave the arena. According to a report published in Telegraph, the cops were informed about the blast around 10:30 pm and although the exact location of the blast is not known, it is being anticipated that it happened either in the foyer of the venue or outside of it. The venue is considered to be Europe’s largest indoor arena and can hold as many as 21,000 people. Ian Hopkins, Manchester Chief Constable, said that police are treating the blast as a terrorist incident and will also working with counter-terrorism police and intelligence agencies. If it is confirmed to be an act of terrorism, then it will be the deadliest attack carried out by militants, post the suicide bombings in London in 2005.

British Prime Minister Theresa May too expressed grief over this attack and said that the authorities were “working to establish the full details of what is being treated by the police as an appalling terrorist attack.” She also said that her thoughts were with the victims and the families of those who have been affected. Police has urged people to avoid the Manchester Arena area. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau too shared his thoughts on Twitter.

Canadians are shocked by the news of the horrific attack in Manchester tonight. Please keep the victims & their families in your thoughts.
