Virat Kohli on Friday ended Cameron Green's debut innings with an absolute classicon Day 2 of the 1st Test between India and Australia. Green's poorly timed pull off a Ravichandran Ashwin delivery was snapped by the Indian captain at mid-wicket, earning Kohli an entry into the 'catch of the year' conversation.
View this post on InstagramKohli's flying effort came on the back of a poor fielding effort by his men, with Jasprit Bumrah and Prithvi Shaw putting down sitters earlier in the day. Kohli, who was run-out for 74 after a mix-up with deputy Ajinkya Rahane, was furious as India gifted the dangerous Marnus Labuschagne twin lives.
Despite the lackadaisical fielding, the Indian bowling attack made a strong comeback for the side on the shoulders of Ashwin, Bumrah and Umesh Yadav, all three of whom have at least two wickets under their belt.

There has been a certain oomph with which Kohli has been playing in the Adelaide match.
He was the most successful batsman of the team during India’s first innings and very well could have scored his maiden Test century against them had it not been the unfortunate miscommunication between Ajinkya Rahane and he has been extremely involved and dynamic when it comes to setting up for field according to the opposing batsmen.
This is the skipper’s first and last Test match of the Australia tour as he is scheduled to return home on a pre-approved paternity leave to his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.
