Watch: Jasprit Bumrah’s Mimicry Of Steve Smith’s ‘Shocking’ Batting Tactic Is A Laughter Riot

The first day of the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground might not have gone the way of the Indian cricket team but that did not stop our boys from having some fun on the field.

Indian pacer and the most economically beneficial bowler for the Men in Blue, Jasprit Bumrah had the fans laughing when in the middle of his spell against Steve Smith, he suddenly started mimicking his unorthodox batting follow through.

Smith is well known in the cricketing fraternity for moving all over the crease during and after hitting a shot and while most of his opposing bowlers choose to ignore the theatrics most of the times, Bumrah couldn’t resist joking about it on Thursday.

The moment brings back memories from the 2017 clash between the two cricketing titans in the red-ball match when Indian pace veteran Ishant Sharma hilariously tried to copy Smith’s expressions while bowling to him.

Sharma’s reaction has become the face of many memes since the day.

Fans had a laughing riot watching Bumrah’s reaction on a loop:

Bumrah trying to become ishant sharma of 2017..that is the desperation.. And we all know about the result smith produced in 2017 in that match.. https://t.co/BdGIRrLRfA

After struggling to make runs against the Indian bowlers in the last two Tests of the series, Smith finally looks like his usual self. It also took him five innings to score the first boundary of the series against the Men in Blue in Sydney during this tour.

The righty Australian hopes to find similar form on Day 2 and contribute to a massive total for his side.
