Gujarat CM Renames Dragon Fruit To 'Kamalam' As It Resembles Lotus & People Are Scared For Bananas

Oh damn, looks like Yogi Adityanath has some competition when it comes to being known as the person renaming stuff. How will the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister defend his title? We'll just have to wait and see.

But for now, a new renaming king has emerged and it is Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.ย

He's all over the news and the internet right now because with so much going on in the world, he's just concerned about one thing, actually, one particular fruit right now.

The state government of Gujarat has decided to go after the poor little dragon fruit and change its name to something that may or may not be counted as propaganda.ย

The new name of dragon fruit is Kamalam because it resembles a lotus.ย

Hmm, did anyone else actually think that dragon fruit was called that because it looked like a dragon? I'm confused.ย

What does the lotus represent? I can't seem to remember, someone, help me out.ย

People, of course, had a lot to say, unsurprisingly, and in a very hilarious twist of events, the humble banana started trending on Twitter soon enough because well, a banana resembles, uh, I'm going to let everyone figure that one out themselves.

As the outer shape of the banana fruit resembles a........ , hence Banana Fruit shall be renamed as '...... ': pic.twitter.com/2Nca6jgQbw

The more you know.

You should because the actual name of this fruit is pitahaya from language spoken by aboriginals in mexico the fruit is originally from central America. It was given name Dragon Fruit sometime in 1960s and no one objected.

Good initiative, I would recommend the government to declare it as our national fruit too. And thus we can lead our country to further progress and glory
