The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecasted very hot and dry weather in the plain areas of the country in the next twenty-four hours.

Continental air continues to prevail over most parts of the country, the MET said.

A shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country.

Rain and thunderstorm are expected at a few places in Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas.

Today's highest temperatures:

Turbat 53.5°C, Sibbi 50°C, Jacobabad, Dadu 49°C, Larkana 48°C, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Bhakkar, Sakrund, Sukkur 47°C.

A record temperature of 53.5°C was observed in Turbat today. Earlier record was 52°C on 30th May, 2009.
