According to fire brigade official, all efforts are being made to bring the fire under control.

"There's smoke everywhere, and the fire has enveloped two apartments and four shops," he added.

According to the locals, the fire started after some fault developed in the main generator of the mill.

The supply of electricity in the area has been suspended by the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO).

The fire has affected three feeders, said MEPCO spokesperson

According to rescue officials, there was about fifty thousand gallons of oil in the factory basement, which caught fire due to the generator heating up.
