While Apple Wows Us With iPhones Microsofts Co-Founder Just Built The Worlds Largest Plane

We live in a world where technology is advancing at a faster pace than we can keep up. We’ve barely gotten used to our current smartphone and a new one has already been released. Not that we’re complaining about this rapid advancement of technology.

But, in a world where innovation is key to survival, a few minor upgrades are no longer enough. It’s not enough to keep us satisfied. We want something more. Every single time!

Then something like the Stratolaunch aircraft comes along and we’re at a loss for words. No wonder Microsoft isn’t giving us cutting edge smartphones, as they have bigger things on their mind. At least one their co-founders does.

Here's video of the first roll out of the world's largest plane. pic.twitter.com/RJarl0dFRJ

Remember Paul Allen? Let’s just call him the less popular Bill Gates for now. Well, he’s been working on the world’s largest aircraft for over 6 years now. This plane really is massive.

It has a wingspan of 385 feet and weighs around 2,27,000 kgs. But, it can carry a payload of 360,000 kgs too. It has 28 wheels and runs on six 747 aircraft engines. Here's some more information on the plane:

But, why does he need such a big plane? What’s its purpose? Surely not to fulfil the travel plans of the inhabitants of a small city.

Well, yeah, he plans to use the plane to help launch rockets into space. By taking off from high in the sky, rockets get a huge advantage. This also removes the need for a launchpad as well as tons of fuel.

But, even if everything goes right and there are no errors, the plane will only see its first flight in 2019. Guess we’ll have to rely on boring old launchpads till then.
