The United Arab Emirates on Sunday warned its citizens against travelling to Britain after the London Bridge attack, the third in the country linked to militants in three months.

The warning was based on the ministry's assessment of risks and threats following the attack, state news agency WAM reported citing Ahmed Al Ham Al Dhaheri, the Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC).

The ministry urged its citizens in Britain to "take extreme caution while moving from one place to another and to avoid public places during this period".

UAE citizens in the UK "would be informed about any development related to their security while abroad", it added.

Earlier, the UAE Embassy in the UK had informed that there was no UAE citizen among the victims of the London terror attacks.
