ISLAMABAD: A petition was submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday against the leaking of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's son Hussain Nawaz's picture at the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
"The leaked picture and recording the proceedings on tape is a violation of both, the law and code of conduct," the petition, submitted by members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, stated.
The petition equated video recording of the proceedings during the investigation as a pressure tactic and stated that an independent atmosphere should be provided to the witnesses for the probe.
The JIT is treating witnesses as if they are guilty and JIT members are trying to threatening witnesses to record biased statements, the petition stated further.
The petition, submitted by senior lawyer Khawaja Harris, requested the court to order a ban to record the proceedings and form a commission to probe to the leaked picture.
Responding on the issue from Lahore, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said there is nothing in the leaked picture to suggest that Hussain is being maltreated.
