The OnePlus 5 will be officially unveiled,  later this month as the company has announced the date we've all been waiting for. The company will be introducing the OnePlus 5 to the world on June 20th at 12:00 PM ET (9:30 PM IST) and the event will be streamed online. After the live broadcast, there will be pop-up events across the globe where press and journalists can get a first look at the upcoming smartphone.

Much like the OnePlus 3T, the new iteration is expected to have high-end specifications for a price that is lower than most flagship devices such as the Galaxy S8, Google’s Pixel and other top-tier Android phones. The smartphone is rumoured to have a dual camera setup with optical zoom capabilities and the company has announced previously that they have partnered with DxO to improve the camera performance.

Apart from the usual suspects, the OnePlus 5 will be competing with smartphones such as Xiaomi’s Mi6 and Motorola’s Z2 Play. The upcoming smartphone will also have a Snapdragon 835 chipset and also comes in various colours.

The OnePlus 3T was our choice of one of the top smartphone’s that launched last year and we expect the same form of fidelity from OnePlus 5. We will only get to know on June 20th what the smartphone is actually made of.
