Johnny Crow received an incredible surprise for his 16th birthday. When he got his Dean Razorback guitar, he was in disbelief and after realizing it was a birthday gift from his late father, he was heartbroken and elated at the same time.

While talking to The Times Herald, he said, "I was definitely overjoyed that my father gave me one last thing to remember him by. I know a lot of kids don't get that."

His father passed away at the age of 49 following a heart attack on April 1. To make things even more heart-breaking and traumatic, Johnny was with his dad when he had the heart attack and tried to resuscitate him with CPR to no avail.

With Johnny’s birthday approaching, his sister was contacted recently by the music centre of her father's birthday purchase. She was told their father had ordered the guitar in January to ensure he got the exact model his son wanted for his 16th birthday.

She made a video of her brother receiving his special birthday gift and shared it on Facebook, where the heart touching clip started going viral.

A lot of people commented on the video with positive and supportive messages for him and his family and shared stories of their own losses along with wishing Johnny a happy birthday. Johnny said that these kind messages and the stories of grief have helped him cope with this tragedy.

"It's a very different experience seeing your hero on his deathbed. It's good to feel you're not alone in this," Johnny said.

He shared a special bond with his dad through music. "I discovered music and it was amazing how it made me feel," he said. "It made that sadness go away, it made me more like my father who I so inspired to be."
