All things considered, the modern world sure moves at a fast past. Be it fashion, technology, or even revolutionary movements that wake the human civilization up from their own bubbles every now and then, the loudest cries often die down with time.
While the #MeToo movement may not be categorized under a similar bracket of movements, unlike how it kicked off and gained momentum in the October of 2017, things have gone a little quieter.
However, not for one second does that suggest that all such incidents have come to the light or that the perpetrators are safely locked behind bars.
It does happen still, and the guilty walk freely amongst us. One need not look far away from home to see it, as the Indian film industry too has its fair share of casting couch incidents that continue to haunt the victims to date.
Recently, Bollywood actress Prachi Desai revealed the time when in order to be cast in a "big film", a director asked her for sexual favors in return.
She said that despite turning down the offer, the director called her again to convince her to change her mind and give in.
“I think very direct propositions were made to get cast in a certain film, a big film, but I have outright said no. Even after that director has called me, after saying no, I have still said that I am not interested in your film,” said Prachi while talking to Bollywood Bubble.
So far, there is no information regarding the identity of the director said to be involved in the incident. However, one need not stress the importance of people finally speaking up against such acts.
