Trumps Nomination Ceremony Was Started With A Sikh Ardas And Its Was Great First Step

Donald Trump has taken over the world by storm and is all set to swear in as the next American president, but did you know that when he was officially nominated as the Republican candidate, the ceremony was initiated with a Sikh ‘ardas’, which was performed by Harmeet Dhillon, a Republican committee woman and lawyer.

Fascinated. Kudos to SF-based attorney Harmeet Dhillon on delivering a Sikh prayer at the #RNCinCLE earlier today. pic.twitter.com/ldS0gZYA3I

She took to the stage, covered her head with a scarf, and before praying, she explained the significance that the powerful, devotional chant carries. She offered the ‘ardas’ in Punjabi and also explained its beautiful meaning. The ‘ardas’ is a Sikh prayer performed for prosperity and seeking the blessings of the lord.
