Since two is better than one, the proposal for another airport has been cleared by the civil avaiation ministry. This one will be constructed in Greater Noida.
We have granted in-principle approval for a greenfield airport at Jewar (Greater Noida) to cater to the growing flying requirements of NCR.
— Ashok Gajapathi Raju (@Ashok_Gajapathi) June 24, 2017The air traffic is ever increasing and since it is the capital city and an extremely busy port, a need for a new airport has become necessary. The Noida International Airport is being aimed to cater to around 30-50 million passengers per year (MPPA). The airport will be 72 kms away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport and will initially have one runway spanned across 3,000 hectare (7,400 acre).

This is another feather added to the currently blooming, shining cap of Indian tourism. A new airport means that we will be able to cater to more tourists and a better channel for travelling will be in place.
