Watched Marvel’s Eternals trailer yet? Yeah, it looks pretty dope with the brilliant star cast, the immortal alien as the new-age superheroes and oh, the powerful theme song. 

Speaking of which, did you notice that the theme song sounds a bit too familiar?

Yes, it might have a desi connection. At least, Indian Twitter users seem to think so. 

Turns out, Desi Twitter noticed an uncanny similarity between the theme song of Eternals and a song from one of the most-loved Bollywood films of all time Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! 

The hook riff in the theme song reminds one of the Hindi song ‘Pehla Pehla Pyaar Hai’ from the 90s classic movie starring Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan.

It was actually lyricist, poet and stand-up comic, Varun Grover who pointed a finger at the eerie similarity. And, honestly, you cannot unhear it after you listen to the 90s Bollywood hit song. 

So, proceed at your own discretion.

Varun shared the link of the trailer on Twitter and wrote, “The hook riff from 'Pehla pehla pyaar hai' reworked as the theme music for Marvel's ETERNALS?” It proves nothing can be hidden from the sight of the desi, or ears in this case.

People were surprised and lauded him for the shrewd observation. 

Many noticed it while watching the trailer for the first time while some went back and realised the almost similar tone.

Could this theme song actually be inspired by this popular Bollywood song from Hum Aapke Hain Koun? Well, every 90s kid’s childhood has been spent listening to this song because we have practically grown up watching this film with our family. 

So, if the Indian Janta thinks there’s a similarity, there most definitely is.

And, as far as the theme song being 'inspired' is considered, it happens all the time. Even we are guilty of getting ‘inspired’ by the music from the west.
