A movie that broke all records previously held by Baahubali (another Rajamouli film) is showing no signs of stopping the speed of light. The movie is a fictional take on the journeys of two freedom fighters who align their goal and make a team.     Amid the mammoth success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR, another South Indian film is gaining traction all over the country & that is Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2, a sequel to 2018 blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1. 
    The advance booking of KGF: Chapter 2 opened on Thursday and the hype around the film is such that it has already taken down the total advance booking collection of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in just two days. 
    According to Box Office India, the advance of KGF: Chapter 2 is the best in Hindi belts since the 2019 film War. 
    At present, the Prashanth Neel directorial is looking to have a massive opening day that can even challenge all-time records in Bollywood. 
    However, in order to create an opening day record, Sanjay Dutt starrer will have to battle out these 5 films in Hindi belts:

    Actor Abhay Deol and director Anurag Kashyap have a big yet niche fan following, courtesy the kind of movies they choose. Both talented gentlemen are known to choose powerful scripts which are not always a family oriented popcorn entertainer, and have successfully managed to carve a whole space that caters to fans like us, who love the former’s acting skills and the latter’s directorial style. Due to this we believe they were also able to pull off a Dev D at a time when the Indian audience was still not acquainted with offbeat storytelling.

    While Dev D was a surprise package in terms of story, narrative, acting and the fresh star cast, Deol’s and Kashyap’s fans have often wondered why they haven’t done a lot of work together.

    In an old interview, Anurag had once explicitly spelled out what went wrong between them and why he thought that working with Abhay was actually a daunting experience for him.
    “It was painfully difficult to work with him. I don’t really have great working memories with him. And haven’t talked to him much since I finished shooting. “He wanted to do artistic movies but also wanted the mainstream benefits. The benefits and luxuries of being a ‘Deol’. He would stay in a five-star hotel while the entire crew stayed in Paharganj for a film that was made on a very tight budget. Also the reason a lot of his directors went away from him,” he said.
    He further elaborated why the fallout happened and they never even talked about it. “He wasn’t there to promote Dev D. He dissed the film and crew a lot. He was gone for a long time. It was because of something he was grappling with emotionally and personally and never talked about. He also felt betrayed by me about which he has never spoken to me ever” he quipped. Surprisingly, a similar sentiment was echoed by Manorama: Six Feet Under director Navdeep Singh, who said “There’s a bit of pride and resentment in him which I think he should get over. Ultimately everybody is connected to everybody, I think he should just get back here because he’s incredibly gifted.”

    Abhay is truly a gifted actor and probably somewhere he does understand that a lot has been lost in translation between him and the people around him. In an old interview, he had actually talked about this whole vibe that’s been around his name for a while.
    “I was too bullish on the success behind me. I deluded myself into thinking that now the big players would put their money on me and experiment. Maybe the very expectation that they’d see things my way was my arrogance. I could have played the game better. And I could have secured myself in a bigger manner. But I did not. And that was my choice. I don’t have any regrets” he said. Well, here’s hoping he continues making great movies for us , because for true Abhay Deol fans, he is a reservoir of talent that keeps on giving.

    Mumbai Indians, the most successful franchise in IPL, has had a forgettable start to the 15th edition of IPL, losing three matches on the spin.

    Whenever a team loses from a position of strength, it’s a hard pill to swallow for the players. After the match, one could clearly see the anger and frustration in Rohit’s behaviour.
    In a situation like this, it’s hard to keep hold of emotions but despite that Rohit gave an inspiring speech to his teammates, where he rather than pointing fingers at anyone asked everybody to stay together as a unit.     We've certainly enjoyed a lot of movies with the actors doing just that. Well, it turns out that Sanjay has a message for everyone in Bollywood.

    The actor, while speaking ahead of the release of KGF: Chapter 2 featuring Raveena Tandon and Yash, said that he wants to take up roles suitable for his age.
    The 62-year-old actor spoke to Good Times and said that he 'can't dance with Alia Bhatt', debunking the current Bollywood trend.
    “Arrey ab hai to thodi main Alia Bhatt ke sath romance karunga. (I cannot be romancing Alia Bhatt at this age). Ya, so, I mean it's like that, you've got to move on.” said the actor.

    Now, while we cannot confirm if this was a dig or not, I guess what we can assume is that Sanjay won't be romancing the likes of Deepika Padukone and other actresses anytime soon.

    Russia announced a war on Ukraine on 24th February 2022 sending in troops of Russian soldiers as they bombed parts of Kyiv and started to disrupt the lives of many Ukrainians - soldiers and civilians, alike. 
    In these 2 months, countless lives have been lost and cities uprooted. 
    While many countries have outrightly condemned Russia’s actions, several others have chosen to abstain from taking a stand. But among those who have chosen to look at the bigger picture and come together for a cause as worthy as saving Ukraine, is the legendary band Pink Floyd.

    A step to shake people who had gotten comfortably numb during this situation of a crisis, Pink Floyd has decided to release its music 28 years after their last single, as a protest song against the Ukraine war.

    Gilmour shared that the song is a show of, “anger at a superpower invading a peaceful nation", but at the same time, it is also a call “for peace”. 
    Inspiration struck when Gilmour saw Khlyvnyuk's Instagram feed, where a video showed Khlyvnyuk dressed in tactical gear with a rifle on his shoulder, singing "Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow," a song that had become a rallying cry during the first world war.

    Gilmour told BBC 6, "It just struck me that, as it is a capella, one could turn this into a beautiful song.” He managed to track down Khlyvnyuk who was in a hospital bed with a tiny quarter-inch piece of shrapnel pierced in his cheek and decided to come up with this song.  

    Moreover, the band also removed all its works from 1987 onward and all of Gilmour’s solo recordings from all digital music providers in Russia and Belarus.  
    In a post shared by Gilmour on his social media, it was mentioned how this was done, “to stand with the world in strongly condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.”

However, more than applauding ECB and their kit sponsors for pulling off a great design and colour combination, cricket fans were busy having a go at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).  
    The BCCI remains under the scanner almost all the time and their decisions often generate lots of reaction from fans. 
    When the Indian board replaced their kit sponsors from Oppo to Byju's, the placement of the logo on the jersey became a huge talking point and the BCCI received a lot of flak on Twitter.

    Zerodha co-founder and CEO, Nithin Kamath has come in the line of fire after he revealed that his company was launching a "fun wellness programme" that supposedly encouraged employees to improve their fitness levels. 
    As part of the program, staff members were promised rewards for losing weight. 
    A fitness enthusiast himself, Kamath had taken to Twitter to announce that Zerodha employees with a BMI under 25 would receive an additional bonus of half a month’s pay. 
    The tweet read, “We are running a fun health program at @zerodhaonline.  Anyone on our team with BMI <25 gets half a month's salary as a bonus. The avg BMI of our team is 25.3 & if we can get to <24 by Aug, everyone gets another ½ month as a bonus. It'd be fun to compete with other companies”

    According to the CEO, the average BMI of Zerodha’s staff is 25.3, and he challenged them to bring it under 24 by August in order for the employees to reap the promised benefits. 

    The initiative was intended to be a part of the ‘World Health Day’, which was on April 7. Kamath said in his tweet, “The lowest average BMI or the largest change in average BMI wins. The winner chooses a charity everyone else contributes to. Maybe a health tech company can run the initiative. If you want to do this at your company, do post in the comments. Happy world health day.”  
    PS: I know BMI isn’t the best measure to track health & fitness, but it is the easiest way to get started. With health & most other things in life, the most important bit is to get started.

    He did issue a clarification regarding the parameters of the program in a subsequent tweet, “PS: I know BMI isn’t the best measure to track health & fitness, but it is the easiest way to get started. With health & most other things in life, the most important bit is to get started. Btw, walking 10,000 steps daily is a great start if you've been wanting to get healthy.” 
    However, it seems as if Nithin Kamath may have missed the mark with this initiative, as the internet’s fury unfolds upon him.  
    On the micro-blogging site, this user tweeted, “Wow rewarding people for being skinny is not the type of fatphobia I thought I'd wake up to but not surprised”.  
    But another Twitter user contested that claim, stating, “There's no phobia here. Stop whining and start getting healthy. I'm also trying to lose weight.”

    This commenter felt Zerodha’s initiative to be problematic, as they wrote, “This is serious discrimination and body shaming. There is nothing 'fun' about your program. Why should my pay or a bonus be linked to my body type? The only thing relevant is my work.” 
    Their opinion was met with an almost immediate retort from another Twitter user, who said, “All work and no play makes one a dull guy/girl..Ever heard of work-life balance? If the employer cares about the quality of life his fellow employees, what’s wrong with it?” 
    This is serious discrimination and body shaming. There is nothing 'fun' about your program. Why should my pay or a bonus be linked to my body type? The only thing relevant is my work.

    Amidst the chaos, there seemed to be one particular user who tried to explain to Zerodha’s founder, the error of his ways.  
    She said, “Hey Nithin! I really appreciate the effort of incentivising and gamifying health for employees. But the same blanket goal for everyone can be a problematic strategy since it, at a lowest risk level, can make people associate their worth with weight or size.” She continued the thought in a linked tweet, “And at the worst, can even lead to eating disorders or mental health issues. I'm a corporate wellness coach working extensively on health at every size. I could help with better goal setting to be more inclusive and less problematic goals.” 
    Whatever be the intention, it seems like Kamath and Zerodha would face some trouble digging themselves out of this faux pas.

    A video is currently doing the rounds on social media in which a group of foreigners is watching the film, which also starred Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur, and the late Farooq Sheikh in important roles. Well, a guy, presumably connected to India, recently showed Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani to his firangi friends and their reactions might upset the film's fans. 

    In the clip, the foreigners can be seen calling YJHD 'toxic' and 'problematic'. Yes, you read that right! However, the caption suggests that they, at last, liked it.

    Not just the clip, even the reactions in the comment section are hilarious. Reacting to the video, an Instagram user commented, "What's gonna happen when they watch Kabir Singh".

    Another social media user wrote, "I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who felt that it was problematic (crying emojis)".
    A third comment reads, "We tried ZNMD with three multi-cultural friend group, and it went "very well" with a similar commentary following throughout".
