5 Films Yash's 'KGF: Chapter 2' Has To Battle Out To Create Opening Day Record In Bollywood



Amid the mammoth success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR, another South Indian film is gaining traction all over the country & that is Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2, a sequel to 2018 blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1. 

The advance booking of KGF: Chapter 2 opened on Thursday and the hype around the film is such that it has already taken down the total advance booking collection of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in just two days. 

According to Box Office India, the advance of KGF: Chapter 2 is the best in Hindi belts since the 2019 film War. 

At present, the Prashanth Neel directorial is looking to have a massive opening day that can even challenge all-time records in Bollywood. 

However, in order to create an opening day record, Sanjay Dutt starrer will have to battle out these 5 films in Hindi belts: 

Bharat (2019)

Salman Khan’s 2019 hit, Bharat opened to a huge Rs 42.30 crore collection and is currently the fourth biggest opener at the box office in Hindi. 

Happy New Year (2014)

Shah Rukh Khan’s 2014 hit Happy New Year was the biggest opener ever at the time of its release with opening day collections that were unthinkable & unimaginable. The movie made Rs 44.97 crore on day one. 

Thugs of Hindostan (2018)

Happy New Year’s opening day record was broken by Aamir Khan & Amitabh Bachchan’s 2018 dud Thugs of Hindostan. The movie’s opening day collection was an unprecedented Rs 52.25 crore. 

War (2019)

The biggest opening day in Bollywood belongs to Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War. The movie had a record-breaking advance booking and on day one, it shattered all-time records to collect Rs 53.35 crore. 

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

Well, not technically a Bollywood film but behind Bharat in the fifth spot is SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The movie collected a huge Rs 41 crore in just its Hindi version.
