With 12 required off the last two balls against Punjab Kings, Rahul Tewatia snatched the victory from the jaws of defeat, smashing two maximums to script the most memorable victory for new franchise Gujarat Titans.
Hardik Pandya’s men were cruising at one stage but the PBKS bowlers, especially Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada, produced a bowling masterclass to pull things back for their outfit.
    View this post on Instagram
With 19 needed in the last over, PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal chose the West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith to deliver the last six balls. The West Indies star did a brilliant job on the first four balls, conceding only seven runs.

From fans to experts, everybody thought that the victory was well within Punjab’s grasp but Rahul Tewatia proved to be their nemesis once again. The Haryana all-rounder, who became a household name after his heroics against PBKS at Sharjah, dispatched the last two balls over the fence to hand GT an improbable victory – completing their hat-trick of wins.

Just to give you a little context, before Tewatia only one player had smashed cleared the ropes twice with 12 required to win off the last two deliveries. This player was none other than former CSK captain and one of the most explosive batters of this generation MS Dhoni.
However, for some reason, instead of celebrating Tewatia’s knock, some of the blind haters started trolling the 40-year-old legendary cricketer by making fun of his finishing skills. Dhoni’s supporters also didn’t sit quietly and hit back at the trolls for disrespecting a player who has won many matches single-handedly for over a decade, both at the international level and in the IPL.
Thala scored 23 in the last over when tewatiya was nowhere in his career
    — Om Dhende (@om_dhende_29) April 8, 2022Hope that fluke alos happened to rcb so that they would have trophy unlike CSK
    — Arpit Adlakha (@AmbaniSuspended) April 8, 2022He is 41 and at the brink of retirement from IPL. Don't know about you but his fans are happy that he is atleast even playing.
    — Skydrow (@Akshdee89977744) April 8, 2022Tewatia >>>>> Dhoni
    — chandan (@CandidBihari) April 8, 2022So now can we do this ?
    Tewatia >= Dhoni
    — chandan (@CandidBihari) April 8, 2022 Tewatia is worthy of every praise after what he did on the night against PBKS. If not for his two lusty blows, Titans would have definitely suffered their first defeat of IPL 2022.
While celebrating one player’s achievement, it doesn’t mean people have to pull someone else down. It’s true that Dhoni is not the same player he once was but it’s also true that during his peak there was no better finisher in world cricket than him.
    View this post on Instagram
Be it Tewatia or Dinesh Karthik or Ayush Badoni, whenever a batter finishes the game for his side, he is always compared to Dhoni because he is considered to be the benchmark and that tells you everything about how good he was in his prime.
We all know Dhoni is in the twilight phase of his career and rather than comparing him to the younger lot, we all must enjoy his remaining time on the field.

A dispute emerged as protests erupted at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar on Friday, with some men apparently yelling "Azadi" chants. Former Indian cricketer and Delhi Capitals veteran, Amit Mishra was appreciated by Indian citizens for showing a lot of courage and speaking out against the incident.

On Friday in Srinagar, a dispute emerged as protests erupted at the city's Jamia Masjid, with some men apparently yelling "Azadi" chants. In the month of Ramzan, this was the first congregational prayer held in the big mosque. Jamia Masjid was only recently reopened for prayers after being closed for nearly two years due to Covid-19.

People familiar with the situation reported that after Friday prayers, a group of young males inside the mosque yelled the slogans. The protests eventually came to an end, and the crowd departed.

    — Renee (@lifeisgucci5) April 8, 2022
Jamia Masjid is one of Kashmir's largest mosques, and it has played a key role in many significant events throughout the Valley's history. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a Hurriyat leader and the mosque's main priest, used to deliver the weekly sermons here, but he has been under house arrest since August 5, 2019, when Jammu & Kashmir's special status was withdrawn. The debate arises at a time when security personnel and migrant labourers have been targeted in the Valley.
Sharing the video of the incident from his official Twitter account, former Indian cricketer and ex-Delhi Capitals veteran, Amit Mishra voiced his disappointment with the people of Srinagar and their chants. He also spoke in favour of the controversial film Kashmir Files, suggesting that the people in the video are also the ones who laughed at the spine-chilling film and called it “based on lies”.
Really disheartening. This is also for all those who laughed and called Kashmir Files a movie based on lies. pic.twitter.com/novwlLaQBJ
    — Amit Mishra (@MishiAmit) April 9, 2022
Hundreds of people on Twitter flocked to Mishra’s post to show their appreciation towards the fearless cricketer who knows very well, about the kind of implications, sanctions and penalties that he might have to face for the remainder of his career for making such gritty comments in public.

A few days back it was reported that due to the huge failure of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey and underperformance of films like Tadap & Baaghi 3, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has decided to step away from backing Salman Khan starrer Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali & Bhai has taken it on himself to produce the film.
    © Instagram/Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
Now, a new report has claimed that Salman Khan will not only produce the film but has also decided to either direct or co-direct it with Bachchhan Paandey helmer Farhad Samji.

A source told Bollywood Hungama that Salman is all set to turn director with Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The close producer-friend of Salman said, “Who do you think directs most of the films that he has done in the last 4-5 years? Not a single frame goes into the end product without Bhai’s consent. He has been sitting on the editing of every single frame of his films for a long time now.”
Another source also claimed that the reason Inshallah with Sanjay Leela Bhansali was shelved is because of Bhai’s “direct-the-director policy”.
As soon as the report of Salman turning director for Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali started doing the rounds, his die hard fans seemed unhappy.
One fan requested him to shelve the movie and even wrote an open letter, “Plz bhai shelve kardo”.
Another wrote, “Pahle isaka actor me torture sahan nahi hota hai ab director tarike jhelna padega ise”.
One comment read, “I think KEKD is going be worst than Radhe and dabbang 3.where in dabbang 3 he wrote his dialogue...and now he is going to direct...”
On the other hand, there were Akshay Kumar & Shah Rukh Khan fans who sarcastically asked for the film to be directed by Bhai.
One user wrote, “Bhai we need this movie at any cost”. Another tweet read, “Bahubali 2 record break Bhai ka retirement pakka Likh ke lelo”.

he first two weeks of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 were filled with lots of drama, heartbreaks and exciting cricket that kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Two of the most successful teams in IPL's history Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are without a win while debutants Gujarat Titans (only unbeaten side) and Lucknow Super Giants are in second and third position on the points table respectively.
Apart from CSK and MI, the other team that is still searching for its first win of the season is Sunrisers Hyderabad. Having let go of the likes of David Warner, Rashid Khan and Jason Holder, SRH have been completely outplayed in both of their opening games this year.
The Hyderabad-based franchise invested heavily on Nicholas Pooran, getting him onboard for a whopping Rs 10.75 core but the West Indies wicket-keeper batter scored a nine-ball duck and in the second match, he showed glimpse of what he can do with the bat but it wasn't enough to get his team over the finish line.
Here is a look at how the players who got big paychecks at the IPL 2022 mega auctions have fared so far in the tournament:
Nicholas Pooran (10.75 cr) View this post on InstagramThe West Indies batter has had a disappointing start to the tournament. Pooran had failed last year when he was with the Punjab Kings and now with a new setup that consists of a legendary coaching staff with Brian Lara, Tom Moody, Dale Steyn among others. fans felt it could be his season but so far he hasn't been able to live up to the expectations of SRH fans.
Pooran scored 34 off 24 against Lucknow Super Giants in a match where they were chasing 170 for the win. However with 27 needed of 16, Pooran smashed a full toss by Avesh Khan straight into the hands of Deepak Hooda at long off and SRH's chances of a win also ended with his innings.
He has scored 34 runs in two matches at a strike-rate of 103.3 and he certainly has not done justice to his price tag.
Ishan Kishan (15.25 cr)  View this post on InstagramThe pocket dynamite was the most expensive player of this year's IPL. Mumbai Indians retained him by splashing money like water as they spent 15.25 crore to get his services. Ishan Kishan started the tournament with a bang as he scored 81 off 48 balls.
In the next couple of games, Kishan has not been himself as his strike-rate dropped significantly. The southpaw scored a half-century in the second game but it took him 43 balls. He again struggled against the swinging deliveries as he played 21 balls for his knock of 14.
Ishan Kishan's inability to get the team off to a good start in the last couple of games has affected Mumbai Indians dearly. With Rohit Sharma also not in form has not helped their cause either.
Shreyas Iyer (12.25 cr)  View this post on InstagramShreyas Iyer was given the opportunity to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after the franchise decided to let go Eoin Morgan, the man who led them to the finals last year. While Iyer has done well as a captain, his batting form has dropped since the start of the 15th edition of the IPL.
Iyer was scoring runs for fun before the IPL in international cricket but in the four matches he has played so far, the 27-year-old has only managed to get 69 runs at a strike-rate of 138.
KKR would be hoping that their skipper could turn this around in the upcoming matches if they want to lift the trophy this year.
Liam Livingstone (11.50cr)  View this post on Instagram
After a quiet start to the tournament, Liam Livingstone unleashed his fury on the bowlers, scoring back-to-back half-centuries. Punjab Kings invested 11.50 crore in the England all-rounder and so far he has delivered for them with both bat and ball.
Livingstone is the third-highest run scorer in this year's IPL with 162 runs from four matches at a strike-rate of 190. Add to that he has also picked up a couple of wickets.
Punjab Kings, under the leadership of Mayank Agarwal, looks like a team on a mission and with the likes of Livingstone firing on all cylinders, this could turn out to be their season.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat Titans, has expressed sorrow for Punjab Kings after beating them in a match that they should have won. Titans needed 12 runs off the last two overs to complete a 190-run chase. After only one delivery, all-rounder Rahul Tewatia blasted successive sixes off Odean Smith to seal the victory.
    View this post on Instagram
Pandya, who shared the bowling duties with Mohammed Shami at the Brabourne Stadium tonight, got off to a good start by removing Mayank Agarwal (5). The skipper has also been batting at No. 4 consistently this season. The 28-year-old batsman finished with 27 (18) runs including five 4’s, during the Friday clash.
The 28-year old, who has been out of cricket for the past year or so owing to what felt like an unhealing back injury, appears to be in good physical shape for the first time in a long time. Pandya admitted to "feeling tired" after bowling four overs when asked about it, but remained upbeat about his general condition.
    View this post on Instagram
While the Gujarat Titans fans were celebrating Pandya’s journey to recovery which now seems to be coming to an end, the fans of Indian cricket are eagerly waiting for the man to once again reach his full potential as a cricketer and become the all-rounder the entire nation had gotten used to before he went down with the injury a few years ago.
The IPL tournament is important and the fact that Pandya’s side is yet to lose a match shows how nicely the team has been formed around him and his aggressiveness. However, with the T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled to take place in October and the 50-over World Cup being hosted in India in 2023, fans are holding their breath and sincerely hoping to see Pandya prosper both with the ball and the bat.
bete india ke liye bhi aisa khelna agar dobara mauka mila
    — Rishi Loona (@RishiLoona) April 9, 2022Even Hardik Pandya said that he is getting tired after bowling 4 overs in a game as he is not used to the same.

Is that affecting his fast fielding or six-hitting ability?

Hope he will get better and his fitness will also get better as the tournament goes on. #IPL2022
    — Cricket Guy (@Cricket_Guy_04) April 9, 2022Pandya would be tired of Bowling in international cricket..But here.. #PBKSvGT
    — Krishna Kavi (@KrishnaKavi2) April 8, 2022On pandya also he is getting tired by bowling 4 overs and batting at no. 4 .....
    — 3stumps2bails (@analysisfigure) April 8, 2022He is actually getting better nd better bowling in powerplay at 140 batting at no 4 with maturity , nd his captaincy against Delhi match was awesome I mean we could say that he is back with bang
    — Kashyap (@Kashyap93205415) April 8, 2022Pandya's 91 runs have come at an average and strike rate of 30.33 and 124.65, respectively, making him GT's second-highest run-scorer so far. Making his debut as a captain of an IPL franchise this season, he has also taken a couple of wickets in the 12 overs he's bowled across three innings at an economy rate of 7.91.

Will Smith shocked the world when he walked up to the stage at the 94th Academy Awards and slapped presenter Chris Rock for cracking a joke on his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Later, that evening, Will won the Oscars for Best Actor for his performance in King Richard. However, the damage was done.
Soon, after the event got over, The Academy held a special meeting to look into the controversy and assured that necessary action will be taken.
Now, 12 days after the awards show night, a 54-member board of governors have handed over a 10-year ban to Will Smith, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This means, Will won’t be allowed to attend the Oscars ceremony for ten years till 2033. However, he will retain his current Oscar statuette and will be eligible to get nominated & even win the trophy again in the next ten years.
Interestingly, Will had already resigned from the Academy, a week ago.
After the news of Will Smith’s Oscar ban started doing the rounds of social media,  a user asked to explain the same in cricketing terms and another user had the perfect response to it.
Comparing Will Smith’s 10-year ban from Oscars ceremony with Shah Rukh Khan’s 5-year ban from Wankhede Stadium, one fan simply replied, “Shahrukh Khan from Wankhede”.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s startling revelation about his near-death experience after being dangled from the 15th floor balcony by one of his drunk teammates has stunned the whole cricket community, especially here in India.
Chahal, who currently plies his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, shared a spine-chilling story from his time at Mumbai Indians. This shocking incident took place during the IPL 2013 when a young Chahal was part of the Mumbai Indians squad.
    View this post on Instagram
The young leggie, who was only 22 at the time, was bullied by one of his drunk teammates and it nearly cost him his life.
The wrist-spinner shared this story in a video posted on RR’s official Twitter handle but didn’t reveal the name of the player who did that to him. Since the video has come out, people have been showcasing their sympathy with the spinner and at the same time are also urging him to reveal the name of that cricketer who gave him this trauma.
    View this post on Instagram
Not just that, the fans are also asking questions of the Mumbai Indians management about what actions they took against that player who endangered the life of a young teammate in an inebriated state.
Like many of us, former India opener Virender Sehwag was also taken aback by the 31-year-old’s shocking revelation and he took to the micro-blogging urging the Haryana leggie to reveal the name of the culprit.
    © Instagram/Virender Sehwag
Sehwag even questioned Mumbai Indians saying it “can’t be treated as fun” and questioned them what action they took against that drunk cricketer.

    © Twitter/Virender Sehwag
“Important to reveal name of player who as per Chahal did this to him in a drunk state. If true, this cannot be treated as fun, important to know what happened and what action was taken considering the seriousness of this,” Sehwag wrote in his tweet which has now been deleted.

When Sehwag’s tweet came out, the fans started praising him for standing up for a fellow cricketer and demanding justice for him. However, after he deleted his tweet this praise has turned into a backlash.

Since the start of the 2017 Indian Premier League season, veteran Indian spinner Amit Mishra has been very active on social media. Mishra has been a close watcher of the game from the sidelines after failing to make contact for the first time in years.
Amit Mishra has joined the list of cricketers who, more often than not, crack up the internet with their funny quips. He was at his wittiest on Friday when he made a sly remark about Chennai Super Kings, mocking the 4-time winners' approach of going for experienced players over the age of 30.
Gujarat Titans are yet to be defeated this season. If they continue the same form, we might see other coaches also giving up laptop and picking up pen and paper like Nehra ji. #IPL #PBKSvGT #TATAIPL2022 pic.twitter.com/4PdlmnBQnu

“Sorry mate, Still two years younger for it,” Mishra wrote in response sending a wave of funny reactions all over the internet among cricket fans.

CSK's average age is over 30, and despite failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in IPL 2020, the defending champions did not undergo a total overhaul.
The next year, Chennai not only made a strong comeback under the leadership of a 40-year old Mahendra Singh Dhoni, but they also made their way into the final and ended up winning the whole tournament for the fourth time, making them the second-most successful franchise, behind Mumbai Indians.

At the IPL 2022 mega auction, Mishra, who played for the Delhi Capitals in 2021, received no takers. Many believed that his age played absolutely no factor behind him not getting any offers for IPL 2022. However, it may have been to do with the fact that Mishra had set up his base price at a whopping Rs. 1.5 crore and that may have been outside of the budget for the team owners.
With 166 wickets in 154 matches, the leg-spinner is one of the best bowlers in the IPL. Over the course of 14 seasons, the senior spinner represented four franchises: the Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Delhi Capitals, and SunRisers Hyderabad. Mishra is the only bowler in IPL history to have taken three hat-tricks: in 2008, 2011, and 2014.
