    Thinking of upgrading your deo or finding a new fragrance from your favourite deo brand? You might want to look at some good perfumes instead.

    Don’t get us wrong, deos have been a life saver, especially for us young men. They help you smell great, they don’t break the bank, and during winters, they allow you to skip a shower or two. 
    However, they have their limitations. 
    Some of the most popular deos in the market have too strong an essence, and literally induce headaches.

    Moreover, the essence of even the best of deodorants will hardly last you 7 to 8 hours, tops. 

    We take a look at a few solid reasons why it might be time for you to switch over to a perfume instead.
    1. Long Lasting Fragrance © iStock
    Pick any decent perfume from a reputed label, and the most popular deodorants around you, and use them for a week. You will see that the fragrance of perfumes last really long, provided you apply it properly and keep yourself clean. Because most perfumes are based on natural oils, they have a longer staying power or a long-lasting fragrance like this one.

    When it comes to your signature essence, you want to stand out. No matter which variant of a deodorant you pick from a particular brand, there will be a comparable deo from a different brand. And because most deodorants are dirt cheap when compared to good perfumes, they have flooded the market. As a result, you will see 6-7 guys out of 10 with the same basic fragrance. Using a good perfume will definitely help you stand out in the crowd.

    Because perfumes have a more potent smell and they stay on for longer, you don’t need to use them as much as you would have to use a deo. A bottle of decent perfume will easily last you over 6-7 months, especially if you use and store them properly. If you are willing to expand your budget and go for a little more expensive perfume, a single bottle can last you for about a year.

    Most deodorant brands use alcohol and other chemicals to reduce cost as well as to make their essence last longer. Perfumes on the other hand are mostly based on natural oils, with very few chemicals. Good perfumes will hardly have any synthetic chemicals in them, and they especially won’t have any alcohol. That is also why most people with very sensitive skin prefer to use perfumes over deos.

    The problem with most popular deos is that they come in aerosol form, which has been proven to be disastrous for the environment. Using perfumes on the other hand is not nearly as damaging to the environment. Plus, it is very difficult to reuse an aluminium deodorant can without having to recycle it. Perfumes on the other hand come in glass bottles, which are fairly easier to reuse.

    People who have some experience of using a perfume will tell you that you can mix and match different perfumes to make your own signature essence. Heck, you can even ask an expert perfumer to recreate any fragrance in the world, including the ones that you find in deos. When you mix up deodorants, they may smell good for a few hours, but after you sweat a bit, it starts to stink really bad.

    Finally, there is the Indian connection with perfumes. Starting from the most basic perfumes that are made in India, to the most expensive ones coming out from reputed labels in Europe, almost every one of these brands uses some of the attars and Indian perfumes that come out of Kannauj. Even a basic bottle of perfume from a decent label will have some Indian ingredients in them.

    TL:DR - Perfumes are clearly betterUnless you’re on an extremely tight budget, and cannot afford to buy perfumes, there’s really no reason why you should be choosing a deo over a decent perfume. And if you have money to spare and want to smell awesome, the sky is your limit when it comes to perfumes.

    The shocking news of the demise of legendary cricketer Shane Warne stunned the entire cricketing world.
    Warne is remembered not only as an extraordinary spin bowler but also as a joyful and energetic man. You will very rarely find a picture where Warne is looking sad. He was always found with that broad and lively smile.

    Obviously, the Australian cricket team of which he was a member, will always have a special place dedicated to the great Shane Warne. Cricket Australia held Warne’s memorial services at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The service was attended by many former cricketers.
    Another great Aussie cricketer Andrew Symonds recalled his fond memories with Shane Warne as he had spent a long time with Warne as a teammate during his international cricketing days.
    Andrew recalled a funny moment when he found rolls of $100 notes in Warne's hotel room. “It was around 49 grand laying on the ground there”.

    Symonds recalls – “It sort of caught my eye as I went past, just rolls and rolls of money. I said to Warnie, ‘Mate what's the story here? He goes “Oh I had a little win at the casino last night Roy and you know what? Cash is king” you realise how special he was,” Symonds said.
    Indeed Shane Warne was a special cricketer and a human being. Dedication and taking on challenges were his speciality. The first IPL trophy was lifted by the Rajasthan Royal under Shane Warne’s leadership. He was not only the captain of Rajasthan Royals but was a mentor who helped every team member bring out their strength and polish them. After winning the trophy he took the entire team on a holiday to celebrate and unwind. That shows the character of the great Shane Warne.

    Warne has left us and a void has been created. The world will still move on. Many cricketers will come and go. But the void created by the passing away of Shane Warne will never be filled.

    You see, while social media and all the constant updates have made certain things in life much easier, it has also made a few of them rather difficult. Such as coming to terms with harsh facts- like how a person’s grammar really is by way of checking it out in their captions, and knowing whether or not a person is interested in you by checking if they’ve seen-zoned you on Whatsapp.

    Yes, it’s a great way to tell if you’re wasting your time chasing after someone, but at the same time, it so happens that you don’t feel ready to give up just yet. 

    And for those moments, when you still want to make an effort to refuel a conversation despite being left on read, we’ve got your back.

    It can be a playful message to send to restore their interest in you and if nothing else then definitely a great way to restart a conversation.

    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batters held their nerves in a low-scoring thriller and registered their first win of the ongoing IPL 2022 . The Faf du Plessis-led side defeated two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by three wickets in a nail-biting encounter at the DY Patil Stadium.

    From bowling spells by Wanindu Hasarnga and Harshal Patel to  Dinesh Karthik’s finishing skills, there were plenty of positives for the Bangalore-based franchise, who had failed to defend a mammoth 205-run total against Punjab Kings (PBKS) just a couple of days ago at the same venue.

    For the majority of the match, the former Proteas skipper did a fanatic job, setting the right field and making right bowling changes at the right time. However, RCB’s one poor DRS call made the whole squad butt of jokes on the micro-blogging site. 
    On the last ball of the 16th over, Harshal Patel, who had already picked up two wickets, was up against KKR’s number 11 Varun Chakaravarthy. In search of a third wicket, the 31-year-old medium pacer attempted a yorker which was successfully defended by the KKR batter, right from the middle of his bat.

    What followed was a chain of comical events which resulted in one of the worst reviews of all-time. Harshal was convinced that the ball had hit the shoes first and looking at his strong appeal the RCB captain also didn’t think twice before going upstairs. 
    The replay on the big screen indeed confirmed that Chakaravarthy’s boot was nowhere near the ball and the shot had come off right from the middle of the bat.

    The people were left in disbelief when du Plessis opted to challenge the on-field decision and they trolled him mercilessly on the micro-blogging site. Some described it as one of the worst reviews of all-time, while others joked that it was a side effect of du Plessis sharing the locker room with Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli, whose DRS record was not very encouraging.

    Whatever the reason maybe, the decision sure allowed the fans to laugh at their expense.
