Remember Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's college romance movie 2 States?

The Bollywood movie, based on Chetan Bhagat's bestseller novel of the same name released eight years back in 2014 and is considered one of Arjun's best films to date.
The movie revolved around the life of Krish (Arjun) and Ananya (Alia), two college students hailing from very different cultural backgrounds who end up falling in love with each other before convincing their parents to accept their relationship.
The film ended up doing really well and was even nominated in eight categories at the 60th Filmfare Awards, after which it won Best Music Director and Best Debut Director awards.
Now, the movie was clearly a big launchpad for both actors, who had been newcomers to Bollywood.
The movie was almost known for its intimate scenes between the two actors, with Arjun even once acknowledging Alia's kissing skills in the film.

However, did you know that Arjun wasn't the first choice for the role of Krish in the film?

    Yeah, that's right.
According to reports, the role was actually first offered to Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan.

Now, as you know Ranbir and Alia are a couple in real life, so it would have been fascinating to see their romance on the screen as well.

Sajid Nadiadwala, who was the producer for the film had spoken to SRK, Ranbir, and Saif, however, he later revealed that it was Bollywood director Karan Johar who roped Arjun for the role of Krish Malhotra.

The decision to choose Arjun made Sajid 'fall off from his chair', as revealed by the producer himself.

“Look at the journey the film (2 States) has taken. It started with Saif Ali Khan green lighting the project. Then Shah Rukh Khan and later Ranbir Kapoor. After that, Karan Johar came to me saying let’s make it with Arjun Kapoor and I fell off my chair.” said Sajid.

He also went on to reveal that it was the right call to cast Arjun. “However, when we started making the movie and I saw the final product, I thought Karan was right in his judgment. I am proud of Arjun because I have seen him grow. I know his dad (Boney Kapoor) and mom (Mona Kapoor) very well. I am extremely proud of him for the way he has worked in films until now.” said Sajid.
Arjun will next be seen in Ek Villain 2.

Oscars have always been iconic, but the one we witnessed this year was something we won’t ever forget.
Ideally, that sentiment should arise for particular wins and celebrations of movies and actors that deserve such an accolade, but what really ended up making the Oscars unforgettable was a bad joke by comedian Chris Rock and an even worse reaction from Will Smith.
    View this post on Instagram
Not that you wouldn’t have already been in the loop of what went down between Rock and Smith on Monday, where Will Smith slapped Chris in the face, right after he made a distasteful joke about Will Smith’s wife.
What HappenedWhile presenting an award for best documentary, Rock jokes, "Jada I love you, 'G.I. Jane 2,' can't wait to see it," taking a dig at Jada for her hair loss that was a result of an autoimmune condition she suffers from called alopecia.
Will Smith just punched Chris Rock and told him "keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth" pic.twitter.com/1f1ytdbMRv
    — CJ Fogler (@cjzer0) March 28, 2022
Not taking the joke well, Smith is seen marching up to the comedian and striking him across the face, only to then walk back to his seat and shout, “Keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth!" Twice.
    What Followed
What followed was a professional reaction from Chris Rock, who then called it the ‘greatest night in the history of television,’ and Will Smith took the stage again in a while to receive an Oscar for the best actor.
    View this post on Instagram
It took mere minutes for the internet to be flooded with memes and subsequently be divided in the opinion of whether or not they supported Will’s actions.
Yes, the joke was bad, it was a low blow. But to walk up to someone on live TV and slap them wasn’t very big of Smith either.
Will Smith’s ApologyPerhaps, that is the same realisation that dawned on Will Smith, for he made a public apology for his actions.
In a post on Instagram, Smith wrote, “Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”
    View this post on Instagram
He continued saying, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
He finally concluded by writing how he is ‘a work in progress’ and wrote, “I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behaviour has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.”

Meanwhile, several reports were shared where the Academy leadership "strongly considered" removing Smith from the Oscars telecast after the incident.

The 94th Academy Award was supposed to be memorable for Will Smith as he won his first Best Actor trophy and became only the fifth black actor in history to win in the category.
However, a few minutes before his Best Actor win, the King Richard star courted controversy when he stepped onto the stage unannounced and slapped presenter Chris Rock for cracking a joke on Will’s wife and actress Jada Pinkett Smith.
    © The Academy
Unfortunately, the slap controversy hijacked the ceremony itself as it became the talking point all over the world and continues to be one.

Hours after the slap row and Will’s Oscar win, a lot of Indians on social media were reminded of Karan Johar’s 2019 dud Student of the Year 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria and Aditya Seal.
Many joked that it is because of Will Smith’s weird cameo in the film that he has behaved in such a way at the Oscars. Others quipped that a Dharma Productions actor is now an Oscar winner. Clearly, an attempt at trolling.
One user wrote, “I feel Will Smith has become overdramatic after working in 'Student Of The Year 2'. #WillAndChris #WillSmith”.
Another wrote, “Will Smith hasn't been himself since the Student of the Year cameo”.
One tweet read, “Will Smith did a cameo in the movie Student of the Year 2, if his temper for cheapness is that high , there would have been a bloody brawl for even offering him the cameo. This Oscar thing was scripted”.
One user also pointed out that Will Smith needed therapy since he danced in the Puneet Malhotra directorial, “Will Smith needed therapy well before today. Precisely when he decided to fly down to Mumbai just to dance in student of the year 2.”

KL Rahul’s captaincy has been a hot topic of debate for quite some time now.
There have been numerous occasions in the past when people have blamed his poor decision-making for the side’s loss – be it with the national team or the IPL franchise.
The 29-year-old opener began a new chapter in his IPL career as the skipper of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) but he endured the worst start possible.
First, he got out for a golden duck and then his team failed to defend 68 runs in the last five overs and suffered a five-wicket defeat against Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans.
    View this post on Instagram
LSG got off to a terrible start, losing their top four batters inside the first five overs with only 29 runs on the board, but half-centuries from Deepak Hooda and young Ayush Badoni steadied their ship and guided them to 158 for six – a below-par but a competitive total.
Gujarat Titans also lost two early wickets but skipper Hardik Pandya and Matthew Wade held their innings together forging a 57-run stand for the third wicket.
However, they both fell in quick succession which allowed KL Rahul’s side to tighten its grip on the match.
    View this post on Instagram
With 68 required off 30 balls, Lucknow were in a position of strength and everyone thought LSG would get over the line if their skipper played his cards smartly.
But Rahul's one decision changed the whole complexion of the match. The LSG skipper handed the ball to Deepak Hood to bowl the 16th over of the innings even though he had overs left from his mainstream bowlers.
    View this post on Instagram
Hooda’s brilliance with the ball in his first two overs, wherein he conceded only eight runs and also picked up a crucial wicket of Wade, perhaps convinced Rahul he was the right man to deliver a crucial over. But it turned out to be his biggest mistake of the night, which perhaps cost them the game.
Not only this, for some reason KL Rahul also didn’t complete the full quota of his lead pacer Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera. It was a decision that many fans failed to comprehend, more so after watching him bowling the penultimate over of the match, wherein he gave away only nine runs, which included two boundaries.
View this post on InstagramAfter the match, angry supporters once again started slamming the Karnataka batter’s messed up game plan for the side’s loss in their IPL debut match against fellow debutants.
Many fans even argued that so far KL Rahul doesn't deserve to be in contention for India’s captaincy in the future. Under his leadership, Punjab Kings lost several close-fought encounters and the fans were afraid that the same trend might continue at LSG in IPL 2022.
Avesh or Chameera will end up bowling one over less.

Not sure whose call it was, but KL Rahul as captain is very, very ordinary. Should be nowhere near India's future captaincy debate #CricketTwitter
    — Rohit Sankar (@imRohit_SN) March 28, 2022KL Rahul, you can do better as a captain. Please do!
    — Shivani Shukla (@iShivani_Shukla) March 28, 2022Remember out of hate for Rohit, people opted for KL Rahul to be India’s all format skipper.
He’s a great player but definitely not the right name to lead India.
I would really like to see Shreyas Iyer lead India, after Rohit Sharma, not even Rishabh Pant.
    — Shrutika Gaekwad (@Shrutika_45_) March 28, 2022The real problem of PBKS was KL Rahul #LSGvsGT #IPL pic.twitter.com/r3TQT5Y47E
    — Raman (@izy_fizi) March 28, 2022KL RAHUL is UNDERRATED Captain.
I mean, how can people say , he is bad, he is actually WORST.
    — P*tch Please (@yashh1706) March 28, 2022KL Rahul is the worst captain at present#LSGvGT #IPL2022 pic.twitter.com/O8iQoiEdes
    — SM (@dickjorsey) March 28, 2022KL Rahul, I don't know how to say this. But buckle up man. Both in Captaincy and in batting.

When Deepak Hooda gives you a couple of good overs, thank your stars. Don't give him a 3rd over - that too at the death. There is a reason he is a part timer and not a regular bowler!

    — Arnav Singh (@Arnavv43) March 28, 2022LSG might have lost the match but there were plenty of positives for them. The side showed that they were not overly dependent on KL Rahul and they could post decent totals even if they failed.
The LSG players and supporters would like to forget this defeat as a small blip and start afresh when they face defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next game at the Brabourne Stadium on Thursday (March 31).

John Abraham, who was last seen in Satyameva Jayate 2, is all set to entertain fans with his next release, Attack.
Featuring Rakul Preet Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez as the leading ladies, the film promises to deliver an action-packed spectacle never-seen-before in Indian cinema. As the movie is only a few days away from its release, the team is currently busy promoting it.
    View this post on Instagram
Recently, during a promotional event for Attack, John got irritated when a journalist asked about the unrealistic action sequences in his films and reacted aggressively. The Batla House star called the reported "dumb" and told him that he left his brain at home. Yes, you read that right!

It all started when the journalist asked, "Aapke films mein action hota hai, lekin action ke overdose ho jaati hai, aap 4-5 logo ke saath fight karte hai accha lagta hai, lekin 200 logo ke saath fight kar rahe hai, bike ko hawa mein uda rahe hai, chopper ko haath se rok rahe hai, toh aisa lagta hai zyada ho jaata hai (There’s action in your movies, but sometimes there’s an overdose of the same. We like when you fight with 4-5 people, but sometimes you fight with 200 men, throw away bikes and stop chopper with your hands, that looks like a little too much)".
After hearing this, the actor intervened and cleared if he was talking about Attack, but the journalist emphasized that the question was about Satyameva Jayate 2, which was released last year.
John replied, "Main toh Attack ki baat kar raha hu, agar aapko isse problem hai (I am talking about Attack. If you have problem with this), toh I am sorry. I really offended you".
View this post on InstagramThe Dhoom actor again mocked the journalist while answering another question about his fitness and that's when the conference took an ugly turn.
John said, "More than physically fit, I am trying to be mentally fit to answer some crazy questions as people are so dumb. Sorry sir, aap dimaag chod kar aa gaye (You left your brain at home). I apologise for you. On behalf of everyone, main aapke liye apologise karta hu, koi baat nahi, you’ll do better next time".
While answering the third consecutive question, the Bollywood star again took a swing at the reporter and called him "uncle" this time. He said, "If you ask the same ghisa-pita question like uncle, you’ll have a problem. You’ll have to ask the questions of today".
You can watch the video below:

Looks like the debacle of Satyameva Jayate 2 has really affected John as he couldn't move on since the journalist mentioned the film at the event. All we can say is, he should have handled the situation more gracefully instead of making some nasty comments.
Do you agree? Share your views about the incident in the comments below.
Coming back to Attack, the film has been directed by Lakshya Raj Anand and is all set to hit the theatres on April 1.

The two new Indian Premier League (IPL) teams made their debut on Monday (March 28) as Gujarat Titans got the better of Lucknow Super Giants in the battle of debutants at the Wankhede stadium.

Apart from the excitement of seeing how the two new franchises would go about their work in the cash-rich league, one thing that fans were eagerly waiting for was to see Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda take the field together after their huge fallout during the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament early last year.
When Lucknow had signed both of them, fans were concerned thanks to the bad blood between the duo but their mentor Gautam Gambhir had assured that both were professionals and that you don’t need to be best friends to perform for the team.

    — ProBatsman (@probatsman) March 23, 2022 Lucknow skipper KL Rahul picked both all-rounders in the playing XI and the duo showed no signs of bad blood on the field. In fact, they were seen appreciating each other and celebrating together.
When Hooda was walking back after scoring a half-century, he got a pat on the back by Krunal and when the duo was on the field, defending their total of 158, they were seen hugging each other while celebrating a wicket and it made fans say that the IPL can do anything.

    — Tanmay (@StanCric) March 28, 2022In the match, Deepak Hooda smashed a half-century and picked up a wicket but it wasn't enough to take the team over the line as Gujarat Titans managed to chase down the target thanks to a handy contribution from their lower middle-order.

Apart from the Hooda-Krunal moment, another thing that got fans talking on social media was watching Hardik Pandya bowl at nearly 140 kph.
The all-rounder did not bowl in last year's IPL as he was struggling with a back issue but with the added responsibility of captaincy on his shoulders, Hardik bowled his quota of four overs.

Also, he played a sensible knock of 33 to bail his side out of danger after Lucknow managed to deliver a few early blows.
Captaining for the first time in IPL, Hardik began his journey with a win and more than his leadership skills, his fitness brought a big sense of relief among fans.
