Vivek Agnihotri's directorial venture, The Kashmir Files, based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, has turned out to be a box office rage. Even after entering the Rs. 200 crore club, the film is in no mood to slow down and is performing well despite facing stiff competition from SS Rajamouli's RRR.
View this post on Instagram
Seeing its success, many people have questioned the filmmaker, if he plans to share the profits with the victims, the Kashmiri Pandits. Reacting to it, Agnihotri and his actress-wife Pallavi Joshi, who also played a pivotal role in the film, have criticised people asking such questions.
While talking to RJ Siddharth Kanan, Pallavi revealed that they used The Taskent Files earnings to fund The Kashmir Files research. She went on to say that during their research, they came across children who did not have access to literature.
View this post on Instagram
Agnihotri then intervened and shared, "From past few years, we are helping the Kashmiri Pandit community and when do you ‘service’ work I don’t like to talk about it. We’ve been doing it for a long time and we’ll keep doing it. It’s been us and them and I don’t think we owe anything to 3rd person".
Criticising people who asked to donate The Kashmir Files profits, Pallavi added, "I think it’s very vulgar of people to actually ask us, ‘if you earn 400 crores, how many crores will you donate to them.’ This is a very vulgar question for people to ask because the film already has 4 producers. Who gets how much is a very long drawn mathematics. Also, whenever any producer makes money out of any film, they obviously put it to make more projects".
You can watch the interview here:
Recently, comedian Kunal Kamra trolled Agnihotri for not sharing the film's earnings with Kashmiri Pandits and dodging the question during a press conference in Lucknow. However, social media users took a dig at the comedian stating that no other Bollywood producer is asked to donate the earnings from their film.
For the unversed, The Kashmir Files has become the biggest post-pandemic hit, as of now. Besides Pallavi, the film also stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, and Mithun Chakraborty in important roles.
On the career front, Agnihotri is now all set to complete the 'Files' trilogy with The Delhi Files. Reportedly, the upcoming film will be based on the right to life.
Well, fans are already looking forward to it.

Director Kabir Khan has been in the Bollywood industry for years now and has successfully helmed projects like 83, Ek Tha Tiger, Phantom and Bajrani Bhaijaan. Even though his credibility needs no introduction and his work needs no validation, the man is often found swimming in controversies owing to his name. During a recent interaction with ABP Network's Ideas of India summit, filmmaker Kabir Khan was asked about how he feels when he’s often trolled and asked to ‘ go back to Pakistan’. Kabir opened up and shared that it obviously hurts his sentiments and somewhere he feels that the freedom offered by social media leads up to this kind of trolling.
View this post on Instagram
"One couldn't say to you in person about what they felt ten years ago out of respect and love but today there is no responsibility of owning your own words. It does feel bad. But that is the reality we are living in. I have realised the toxicity or negative impact of social media is more than the positive impact," he said. "My name is Khan and (hence I am told) Go to Pakistan'. And I have been to Pakistan once and Lakshar said go back to India, so I am neither here nor there. If you show stories, then it evokes every kind of emotion and it is okay," Khan quipped.
View this post on Instagram
He also opened about the difference in patriotism and nationalism, and how every story evokes a certain kind of emotion in the audience. “Every filmmaker should have their own reflections (in the films that they make). We sometimes show tricolour in the films but today there is a difference between patriotism and nationalism. For nationalism, sometimes we need a counter point or a villain. However, you don’t need any such thing for patriotism. Patriotism is a pure love for your country and you don’t need a counterpoint. And that was my attempt with 83” he added.
Trollers surely need to take a break and while people will say what they want, it’s good to know that talented individuals like Kabir have risen over this and continue doing some good work for their audience.

The Indian team suffered a heartbreaking loss to South Africa in their final league game of the ongoing Women's World Cup that ended their campaign on Sunday (March 27).
Team India needed to win to qualify for the semis but they fell agonisingly short after the penultimate delivery of the match was called a no-ball by the TV umpire. Deepti Sharma had overstepped by an inch and that cost India dearly in the do-or-die contest.
For showing admirable fighting spirit, fans and former cricketers extended their support for the Women in Blue on social media.
Ex-India captain Virat Kohli too took to Twitter to react to the women's team exit from the World Cup.
Always tough to bow out of a tournament you aim to win but our women's team can hold their heads high. You gave it your all and we are proud of you.
— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) March 28, 2022 Kohli, who himself has tasted heartbreaking losses as captain in ICC global events, said that the team can hold their heads high as they fought with everything they had on the field.
"Always tough to bow out of a tournament you aim to win but our women's team can hold their heads high. You gave it your all and we are proud of you," Kohli tweeted.
Kohli's emotional post for the women's team left quite a few Indian cricket fans emotional as they reacted to the post on social media.

— Pranav Sri Datta (@PranavSriDatta) March 28, 2022In the match, Deepti had taken a crucial wicket of the second-last ball of the match but she failed to land her foot inside the crease by inches and it was deemed as a no-ball, India were denied the wicket and lost the match on the final ball, bowing out of the tournament.
Following the loss, India finished fifth on the points table of the eight-team tournament as the West Indies took the fourth spot as the last semi-finalist.
Deepti Sharma to du Preez, no ball, It's Harman once again and du Preez has holed out, have they changed strike? This was tossed up on off and du Preez saw the chance to hit the winning boundary, was looking to loft it wide of long-on, but she dragged it high and pic.twitter.com/wc5QDLUiHF

It was the last World Cup for two of Indian women's cricket stalwarts, captain Mithali Raj and pacer Jhulan Goswami. After the game, Mithali did hint that it might not be the last time fans see her in an Indian jersey on the field.
"It would not be appropriate for me to comment anything on that, considering the kind of game we just played and as I said, the emotions are still there. So, it needs to settle down before I could have clarity on that and give an answer to that," Mithali said at the post-match press conference.
Admit it,
Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami deserved a better farewell.

— Female Cricket #CWC22 (@imfemalecricket) March 27, 2022 The duo of Mithali and Goswami may not get their hands on a World Cup title but the team needs them to stay and make the transition easy for the youngsters who will come into the side.

American pop star and actor Miley Cyrus broke on the scene at a very young age as she starred in the superhit Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana.
Soon after, the Party In The USA singer made her stamp in the music business as well, bringing out some really groovy tracks.

Now, growing up in the competitive industry, Miley is now known to be someone who is absolutely fearless in speaking her mind and usually holds nothing back in interviews or while interacting with fans.
And in a podcast two years back, the pop star shared some delicate details about her *** life. Speaking during the podcast, Miley said she had lied about losing her virginity to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.
© Reuters
“I was 16. It wasn’t Nick Jonas (who I lost my v*rginity to). But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy,” she said.
She admitted that she lied to Liam Hemsworth that she had already had *** before. “I lied and said that he wasn’t the first so I didn’t seem like a loser. He said, ‘Oh, who have you had *** with?’ And I couldn’t think of anyone, so I just made somebody up that I knew but we had never actually had *** before.
“[Liam’s] friend ended up marrying him, and then it was like, ‘Oh now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with?’So then when I was, like, 24, I had to say that I lied when I was 16. It was a lie that I held onto for, like, 10 years.” said Miley.
The Wrecking Ball singer got engaged to Liam back in May of 2012, but they split in September 2013, before reuniting in 2016.
They then decided to tie the knot in December 2018, however, after having a lot of troubles, chose to divorce each other in January of 2020.

Miley had admitted that her marriage had too much conflict in it. "There was too much conflict….When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don't get off on drama or fighting." she told a publication earlier.
According to reports, Miley is now planning her first-ever new live album 'Attention: Miley Live'.

SS Rajamouli has done it once again with his latest directorial RRR. Starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, RRR had its premiere shows in the US a day before its worldwide release on Friday, March 25.
Such was the hype and craze around the film that it did the unthinkable by premiering in the US on just 1000 screens.
The Indian action epic outperformed every competition at the box office on Thursday, March 24 and that also included the global blockbuster The Batman. Unlike RRR, The Batman was playing in 4302 theatres across the US.

Sharing the details about the grand feat by RRR, US-based film trade analyst Gitesh Pandya wrote, “New Indian film #RRR was the #1 movie across America on THU bumping #TheBatman to 2nd place. In 1st day at US #boxoffice, #RRRMovie did about $3M from premiere shows while #Batman did $2.5M from 4x as many thtrs. Higher tix prices of $25-43 helped RRR. #RamCharan𓃵 #JrNTR #Telugu”.

Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the most lethal fast bowler in the world. Apart from his hard work and determination, the Gujarat speedster also owes his success to the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He burst onto the scene back in 2013, when he made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians. Back then, more than his skills, it was his unique action that made him a household name.
View this post on Instagram
He had a dream start to his IPL career as he picked up three wickets on his debut against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), snaring three for 32 in his four overs. However, his happiness was short-lived as he spent the whole season on the bench after going wicketless in his next outing.
Like any budding cricketer, Bumrah had the talent but he wasn’t the finished article just yet. He had to toil hard on developing different skill sets in order to succeed at the highest level.
View this post on Instagram
There’s no denying that Bumrah was a special talent but he wasn’t even a fraction of the bowler that the whole world knows today. Despite his dream IPL debut, he failed to impress in the next two seasons.
Even former RCB skipper Kohli was sceptical of Bumrah’s abilities.
Back in 2014, Parthiv Patel, who had witnessed Bumrah’s progress from close quarters, had asked the then RCB skipper Kohli to check out the young pacer but his reply was not very encouraging.
View this post on Instagram
Like many others, the former Indian skipper was also not fully convinced by Bumrah’s ability to succeed at the highest level. His assessment of the pacer reflected what he thought about the young speedster at the time.
During a Cricbuzz show, Patel revealed how Kohli made fun of Bumrah’s abilities after he had advised him to have a look at the young prospect.
“When I was playing for RCB in 2014, I told Virat there is a bowler named Bumrah, check him out. His reply was ‘chor yaar ye Bumrah Vumrah kya karenge’,” Patel said on Cricbuzz.
View this post on Instagram
Bumrah had already dismissed Kohli in the 2013 IPL but he didn’t get enough chances that year to create a lasting impression on anyone.
Also, like I said, before, he wasn’t quite the bowler that he is now and Kohli, obviously, didn’t have much idea about him.
Kohli’s comments might appear to be rude but it was anything but that. He hadn’t seen Bumrah play much and his remarks were a result of that.
