Despite the restrictions, a former BCCI selector claims that board president Sourav Ganguly attends squad selection meetings on a regular basis. According to the BCCI's rules, the board president has no participation in selection meetings; nonetheless, former members of the selection committee believe that Ganguly is present during Indian squad selection sessions, according to an article published by the Indian Express on Friday.
In fact, one of the previous selectors alleged that Ganguly has been to each selection meeting since taking over as BCCI president in October 2019, and that no one could afford to share disapproval due to his presence and stature in Indian cricket. Ganguly has even been accused of 'bullying' members who attend these sessions.

The episode was revealed after the instability in Indian cricket, particularly during the Virat Kohli-Sourav Ganguly scandal in December of last year. Soon after, a photo of Ganguly and various members of the selection committee, as well as Kohli and Rohit Sharma, sitting together in 2019, began circulating, implying that Ganguly was most likely present at these sessions.
When the photo was resurfaced last month, Ganguly stated that he did not believe he needed to answer to anybody or anything (on this) and that he did not believe he needed to dignify any of the unfounded claims. He went on to say that he is the president of the BCCI and that he does the work that a president of the BCCI should do. He even reminded the crowd that he had appeared in 424 international matches for India.

After being undefeated at 61 and saving the first match against New Zealand in Kanpur, the 37-year-old received a WhatsApp message from Ganguly, according to the 37-year-old. "As long as I'm here (at the helm of the BCCI), you'll be in the team," the telegram stated.

Saha was in great pain owing to a neck problem, which had reduced his 'keeping time even when KS Bharat took over. Two and a half months later, Saha was dropped from the Indian Test team. He was caught aback by the disparity between head selector Chetan Sharma's Saturday news conference and their one-on-one conversation.
